Sorghum is difficult to find, and all the more so this dark variety. Health experts place especial value on foods that are dark blue or black--like this grain--as being beneficial for the microbiome, since the good bacteria in the colon are nourished by this dark anthocyanin pigment. Thus eating this grain is helpful for one's digestive health.The label says "With 4.6 times more antioxidants than BLUEBERRIES!" However blueberries are usually eaten raw, while this sorghum must be boiled, so the enzymes are lost that way. I don't know how boiling affects antioxidants, and whether this label on the message pertains to cooked or raw sorghum.The grains look clean and taste fresh. This is clearly a high-quality food. Anyone wishing to increase whole grains in their diet would do well to buy this one. I've never seen it in any store, not even health-food stores and coops. I asked my local coop to carry it, and in response they only got sorghum flour.These grains are chewy, so I recommend soaking overnight, pouring off the soak water, then cooking with a pressure cooker to soften them. Otherwise if chewiness is an issue, you could crack them in a grain mill before cooking or put them in a food processor after cooking. Dr. Michael Greger claims that grains eaten in their whole state provide more food for the good bacteria in the gut.Sorghum is a non-gluten grain, and persons who avoid gluten would be well advised to become acquainted with it.

This sorghum is amazing and super tasty! It's a special favorite when making my whole multi-grain bread and six grain steel cut oatmeal. This brand is the best I've found so far.

Love this grain and brand. Tastes great as part of my breakfast grain bowl! Black sorghum is so good for you too. I will definitely be reordering.

This was first time trying sorghum and I was not disappointed. It was very chewy, came in a nice package. I wish there were cooking instructions on the package, but after a quick google search I found a way to cook it in my instant pot no problem.
