Premium Charcoal for Serious Grillers
After trying countless brands, the Big K Chilla-Grilla is now my go-to charcoal, especially for my Kamado Joe. While it might be slightly pricier on Amazon, the convenience of home delivery and the quality are absolutely worth it.Pros:Large 12kg bag provides excellent valueRestaurant grade quality - consistent burn and heatLarge, uniform lumps with minimal dust/small fragmentsClean burn with excellent heat retentionPerfect for ceramic grills like Kamado JoeNo strange chemical odorsCons:Slightly more expensive than supermarket brandsThe charcoal lights easily, burns consistently, and gives a fantastic even heat that's crucial for perfect grilling and smoking. I've found it performs significantly better than cheaper alternatives. For serious BBQ enthusiasts who want reliable, high-quality fuel, this is the charcoal to choose.Highly recommended for ceramic grill owners and serious BBQ fans who don't want to compromise on fuel quality. Even used this to cook our Christmas Turkey this year!

Excellent product - best I’ve used in many years
Superior in every way to what you’ll pick up in supermarkets in those ‘easy lighting’ bags. This is good sized lumpwood charcoal that provides a decent temperature for a longer time than anything else I’ve used. I’ll definitely buy again! Don’t hesitate on the price, it’s worth it

Good coal. Lasts well.
Nice big chunks of charcoal. Burns well and lasts well in the smoker. Any leftover coals from the previous BBQ burn well with a bit of fresh coal which makes it last longer.

Excellent charcoal
I've had many bags of this, I like it. I had a few bags of kamado charcoal, which was, in my opinion, rubbish. This stuff is what the red bag promises to be except loads cheaper. You get the little bits in the bottom of the bag but has been pretty consistent (and good!) Sized chunks in my experience.

Good Product
During lockdown we could not stock up with our usual charcoal from a trade outlet and I don't like briquettes and even most of those I could find were the "quick lighting" type which I don't need as our barbeque has a gas system for lighting the charcoal. This natural charcoal does not burn as long as briquettes but burns a lot hotter and is ideal for a good steaks. In comparison with our normal purchase these were the same price (without us needing to travel to buy) and the same quality. One thing to note is that this type of charcoal comes in very varying sized lumps and we keep a hammer handy to break up the larger pieces. Same with this as our normal purchase. Will definitely buy again. Much easier than travelling to the trade outlet for the same product at the same price.

Small pieces, but they still burn
Good charcoal, but sadly arrives in very small pieces with lots of dust, presumably due to rough handling. If that doesn't matter to you, then this is a fine product.

Great and a good alternative to BGE
This is a staple coal we buy for our big green egg. Usually quite cheap, has a good burn rate and keeps a consistent temperature. Unless your cheap alternatives. If we are doing a be try long roast, like 13 hours, we will also use BGE coals as that is the best. However, that’s not as easy to get a hold of and costly.I would always recommend this one though for any other roast. It’s freely available and our local BBQ places use it!
