Howard Products Food Grade Mineral Oil for Wood Cutting Board - 12 oz, Pack of 1

I was gifted a large, 24 x 30-inch, 2-inch thick unfinished butcher-block cutting board. After doing a little research on how to seal it, I bought this food-grade mineral oil. It was very easy to apply using some folded paper towels. It has no smell, and absorbed very nicely. I waited an hour for the first coat to absorb/dry, and then applied a second coat, then an hour after that, a third coat. I've been using the cutting board for quite some time now, and it's been washed countless times (no dishwasher!). The finish is holding up very well. If I were to see any signs of the wood drying out, I'd apply another few coats, but it hasn't seemed necessary yet. The three coats that I applied used about half of the bottle, so I'm prepared for another coating when/if necessary.

I've already used oil on my new cutting board. I used the oil to remove labels.I have an old kitchen cart with a wood top that was looking pretty rough. I decided to oil it, too. It drank it up like water in the desert! Looks much better.Added benefit: my hands haven't felt this smooth in years!

Been using this oil to maintain our costly cutting board and works very nicely to prevent water penetration.

Great product to protect your cutting boards u just need to do it often it seems to wash off after a few washes.
