Good dust protection for network ports
I put these plugs into a switch that I have installed in a partially climate controlled part of m workshop where there is a lot of dust.

Useful product, but are they working?
I like startech products. I've recently become fan of their stuff, because either their products work really well or their amazing customer service is there to back up the lack of expected quality with wonderful support. These dust caps/covers seem to be inconsistent in terms of which they devices they fit and how. This doesn't make sense to me but that's been my experience. on some devices I found I'm able to put them in very easily, on some others I have to do some maneuvering to get them in and on some other ones they won't go in at all. For those device ports they're able to fit in, they're doing a good job, as I have several devices with unused rj45 ports in areas that do not get much cleaning. Overall I'd recommend this, but I just think YMMV warning is prudent for this particular startech product.

Just what we needed.
Doesnt it seem like switches always have more ports than get used? Or when people plug into the switch they plug into the port that has been deactivated? Well this is a good way to "help people make the right decision" when it comes to plugging into a switch with multiple open ports.

Suitable For Its Purpose
These dust covers seem to be durably made. They were easy enough to install and remove in UniFi switches and routers. Aside from keeping dust and debris out of the ports, I like the uniform look as well. They’re the best I’ve purchased so far.
