This is a cutting, un-rooted. However, mine came with one small cm hair sticking out at the base - root. Received well wrapped, 3x bubble container, tracking was difficult, most likely usps fault, but customer service was on point. Sent instructions on how to care for the plant. Total length was in-between 8-12 inches. About a inch in diameter. Will give 5 stars when roots develop in a few weeks. It's been quite some time since I bought this. It never did grow the root. I waited long enough to be able to grow one from seed. Ended up just withering away, threw it away a week ago. Should've went with seeds.

Wasn't sure this would work
My son loves the red dragon fruit (if this one is actually red TBD). I have bought this to grow as a family. I followed the directions and boy am I surprised. Bought this July 12th, I planted it sometime at the tail end of July and on Aug 29th I was surprised to find 1 branch/offshoot, not sure what to call it. I was even more surprised to find out how fast they grow. We know to expect fruit in 3 years. I live in AZ so I am hopeful that it just loves it here and we get fruit before then! Pictures smallest offshoot to largest by date (8/29, 9/3, 9/8 and 9/11) As of today, 9/11, the offshoot stands at 7" tall!!!Aug 9 2022 the image now is of the plant after a year. Has had many off shoots but since it is outdoors and monsoon season is intense it has started to shrivel. From some research that means it is over watered. Most branches are super thin and bent/break easily. I am going to start with a new plant and see if I have better luck.

It's growing!
I ordered 4 in January 2015. I received 5 pieces with not so clear instructions. One extra piece looked very short so I suspect that's why they gave me an extra one. I didn't know what the blue mark drawn on the plant on one end meant. Am I suppose to plant the part with the blue line into the ground? In any case, that's what I did. I planted the blue part into the ground. It's May 2015 now and 2 of 5 are growing. The other three look the same. I'm not sure if the other three are alive but since they are still green...I will keep them there until there are signs of writhing. The two that are growing are doing very well and I am very excited about having a dragon fruit plant in my backyard.

Easy to root and care for
I got a segment of dragon fruit cactus about 7 inches long. I don't have the greatest success rate with house plants, so I was a bit dubious as I followed directions and potted it and placed it in front of my west facing sliding doors. To my surprise, after only about two weeks, it put forth a tiny little shoot which has grown six inches and is now putting out side-shoots of its own. As houseplants go, care is easy-peasy if you use the recommended type of soil, don't over-water or over-fertilize. It basically thrives on neglect. Once they've rooted, they take off fast. It's nowhere near large enough to fruit, so I can't speak to that yet, but I'll get back to you it.

what a shame!!
I received the live plant (not sure if this is a real dragon plant can't tell if it is, 3 days late. I am not happy with my purchase The plant was Soooooo... thin as thin as a bamboo BBQ sticks and soooo... undersize. this should not be allowed here, it is a baby plant from seeds and should be stated from the start. This should not be allowed to continue selling. I would like to return it, but I feel sorry for the plant and worried the plant will not survive en route,
