Just what we were after.
Well this will make a great Birthday present to myself.Yes I have to admit that I was also tempted withASIN: B000AAF9Q0 but I always believed it was overpriced. Now we have a even better product at a Fair price and as its my Birthdaylater this Month I am going to pre order it.## Important - a few days ago the price was £ 70 and all of a sudden the price has shot up to £ 120 so its unclear what is going on - my comments relate to it being on sale at £ 70 - its now jumped to £ 199.99 which would be unbelievable if anyone bought it at such a price - its unclear why the price has been going ballistic as other Companies are selling it at a ' fixed price ' so really Amazon are not doing themselves any favours ##Price was only part of the equation I was also concerned over Disk damageand ASIN: B000X41AY8 appears to be better put together.Assuming the UK and American release are identicalSpanning 61 discs, "THE X-FILES"-THE COMPLETE COLLECTOR'S EDITION" consists of the following elements:Season One (Discs 1-7) 24 episodes"The Truth About Season One" 11-minute documentaryDeleted scenes from pilot episodeSpecial effects sequenceTV spotsDVD-ROM game "Roots of Conspiracy"Season Two (Discs 8-14) 25 episodes (w/select episode commentaries by Chris Carter)Chris Carter interview clips"The Truth About Season Two" 20-minute documentaryDeleted scenesSpecial effects sequencesTV SpotsDVD-ROM game "Unholy Alliances"Season Three (Discs 15-21) 24 episodes (w/select episode commentaries)Deleted scenes (w/optional commentary by Chris Carter)Chris Carter interview clips"The Truth About Season Three" 30-minute documentarySpecial effects sequences w/commentary by Matt BeckTV spotsDVD-ROM game "Mere Words"Season Four (Discs 22-28) 24 episodes (w/select episode commentaries)Deleted scenes (w/optional commentary by Chris Carter)"The Truth About Season Four" 30-minute documentarySpecial effects sequences w/commentary by Paul RabwinTV spotsDVD-ROM game "Urbs Tertia"Season Five (Discs 29-34) 20 episodes (w/select episode commentaries)Deleted scenes (w/optional commentaries by Chris Carter)"The Truth About Season Five" 30-minute documentary"Inside The X-Files" documentarySpecial effects sequences w/commentary by Paul RabwinTV spotsDVD-ROM game "Earthbound"Season Six (Discs 35-40) 22 episodes (w/select episode commentaries)Deleted scenes (w/optional commentary by Chris Carter)"The Truth About Season Six" 30-minute documentaryBehind-the-Scenes featuretteSpecial effects sequences w/commentary by Paul RabwinCharacter profile - Cigarette Smoking ManTV spotsDVD-ROM game "Dreamland"Season Seven (Discs 41-46) 22 episodes (w/select episode commentaries)Deleted scenes (w/optional commentary by Chris Carter)"The Truth About Season Seven" 30-minute documentaryBehind-the-Scenes featuretteSpecial effects sequences w/commentary by Paul RabwinCharacter profiles - A.D. Stunning. Absolutely Stunning.
I admit first-off that I struggled to get into this show. It was one I had always wanted to get into but I'd get to the end of season 1/ start of season 2 and stop. I done this twice before beginning my binge and boy am I glad I did. Whilst season 1 and 2 are fun in their own right, season 3 really opens up 'the mythology' and ropes you in and Mulder and Scully's chemistry really blossoms. Whilst the mythology became quite difficult to follow at times, contradicting itself in places, it was very enjoyable as if it was building up to something, particularly in season 5.After the movie, the show continued to be great in my opinion and remained that way. With the start of season 8, an introduction to John Doggett as a main cast member was, I believe, a great choice as it was really interesting to see Scully become the believer, creating conflict with his skepticism. This was a logical move as Scully has seen some unexplainable things in the past 7 years of working on the x files. Ironically, Scully herself would then revert back to the skeptic in the revival series which I thought was a mistake. With the addition of Monica Reyes who would become part of the main cast in season 9 and another believer, the x files was definitely changing. With Mulder gone and Scully reduced to a recurring role in season 9, many fans were not happy with the switching out of Mulder and Scully for Doggett and Reyes. I was too young to be a fan back then but whilst being unsure at the beginning of season 9, I have to admit that I really did enjoy the characters of Monica and John. They had a different relationship from Mulder and Scully, and I liked that. Having Scully as a recurring character was a good choice as it felt kind of like she had become a mentor and someone to call on for help with all of her experience in the past.I really wish the show had continued from that point as I believe Scully would have continued to make appearances in season 10, maybe fading out of the show in season 11 WITH Mulder and William. All in all this show was many things, some bad, a lot good. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys sci-fi, compelling characters and great stories. The HD remaster I should note is spectacular and really gives the show that crisp look. The bonus features are mostly transferred from the DVDs with some new content which is always a plus for such a release.

Perfetto e completo

Suspenso a 20th Century Fox España

141. The truth is right here (+ complete blu-ray product details)
Being the progenitor of many sci-fi TV shows that became global trends in recent years, the most legendary television programme of the '90s, THE X-FILES, is finally making its blu-ray appearance, after years in the process of remastering from the original 35mm negatives, presented in 16:9 widescreen format, and including new DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 tracks. All 202 episodes are featured, with more than 23 hours of special content across all 9 Seasons, and including bonus features from the previous DVD releases, such as audio commentaries, deleted scenes and featurettes. For the first time, we have the chance to own a piece of television history in superior quality, in the fasion of the glorious "TWIN PEAKS: The entire mystery" set from last year that was also finally presented in HD and in its entirety. Having created a huge buzz months before its release, here is the complete and official details, for those who wish to know exactly what the box includes, and also what it looks like.Packaging: The box contains 9 - 1 for each Season- cases, and leaves a space reserved for the upcoming mini-series set (due to be released next year), all housed in a glossy, sturdy slide-off box set. All Seasons are 6-disc sets (except for Season 2 which, being the longest, is spread over 7 discs), presented in double, not regular-sized, clear blue amaray cases. Each Season contains all the episodes and special features from the individual Seasons-sets, which are now also available individually on blu-ray. No guides or booklets are included in the box, the only info available is an episode list and a special features list on the inside of each case. The discs of each season have different artwork on them. (Australian release features an additional 2 blu-ray discs for the feature films "Fight the future" and "I want to believe"; Japanese box, also, includes the 2 films, plus, a poster, a set of cards with commissioned artwork, and an episode guide).Picture/Audio: The entire show was originally broadcast in standard definition. As the series was launched after the early widescreen TV boom of the early '90s, it was filmed with widescreen in mind. The first 4 Seasons were produced in 4:3 format. The series then went to a 16:9 widescreen format for the remainder of its run, as anamorphic widescreen displays were starting to become common. Thus, it now appears as originally intended, which is rather amazing to watch after 2+ decades (only the pilot was shot somewhat differently, and so the result is some unavoidable cropping in order to get it looking right; but that is a minor gripe that only eagle-eyed viewers will notice). The sharpness is astounding, it is even more impressive than some HD footage shown on German TV a couple of years ago. The audio is equally impressive, crisp and clear. The extra features are presented in HD as well, indicative of the effort made to present a pristine package altogether. To those interested in buying this, this will be of interest: I bought the UK box set for €140 (about $150). Amazon.com's $270 price is ridiculous, but amazon.uk's £100 plus p&p is one of the best deals at the moment. Both UK and US boxes feature the exact same material, which is exactly what one will get when purchasing all seasons individually (but why not have the complete thing when you can buy it at a good price?). If I could recommend one of the 2 sets, I would go for the UK box, because the packaging is better-looking (thicker outer-box, and all 9 cases are double ones - US box has 8 normal ones + 1 double for Season 2). The notes I have included about the picture and audio quality and the remastering are based on selective viewing. Obviously it will take a while to watch everything on here, but I will make an update if I encounter anything worth sharing. Let us all rejoice, this is super exciting, I am sure most avid fans of the show can share my enthusiasm! The truth is - finally - out there!List of contents:Format: Widescreen 16:9 (1.78:1)Audio: English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, French: DTS 2.0, Spanish: Dolby Digital 2.0, German: DTS 2.0Subtitles: English SDH, French, Spanish, German and JapaneseNumber of discs: 55 (Seasons 1 & 3-9 x6 discs, Season 2 x7 discs)Total run time: 9,071 minutesSEASON 1Episodes:1.
