Packed full of descriptions of all those perfumes you have heard of, but never tried. In some of the descriptions you can almost smell the aromas. Has educated me, and would follow advice when buying an unfamiliar scent. Lovely read.

A wonderful mini-encyclopaedia
A perfume guide written by a man? Surely women should be the best judges seeing they wear them? But not here, as John Oakes expertly shows us in this delightful 320-page mini-encyclopaedia, discussing the world's most famous and loved scents in almost intimate detail. This book should be on most women's shelves, an alternative to poetry when in need of therapy! My only complaint would be that John Oakes seems to classify the perfumes by women's age groups, suggesting often that women "over 30" should avoid this or that. Perfumes don't necessarily fall into age categories, it is all a question of personality, mood, season and individuality. We are as young as we feel.

I love this book ,is like falling in love...never feel you want to finish,but you can't stop reading...is fascination,you feel like wearing,thinking,talking,trying ,buying,"reading" ...a perfume is... making love all the time...this book it will become your friend.It has everything in :nice presentation of ingredients used in perfumes,description of over 150 famous perfumes, in such a way you almost can feel the perfume .Every perfume has a short history,good description of composition and when and how to wear it.What I think is making this book wonderful and special is its warm style,making you feeling cozy in the same time you are feeding your curiosity about perfumes.The autor is adding to the magic world of perfumes ,his own and exceptional intuition ,Knowledge and original view .Try it,you won't regret even a moment!(Atention is highly addictive ,even if you are not a beginer!)
