GolfWorks Golf Grip Tape Stripper Remover Tool

This is the same tool i used when working in the pro-shop at golfsmith. Its great for cleaning tape and residue on shafts when regripping.

needs a bit if sharpening sooner than it should (or what I think it should) it does the job and on steel is no issue but on graphite you need to be careful not to scar the shaft

Overall good tool. You have to learn at what angle to use it. Can cause some scratches if you go to hard with it.

The tape stripper works well. Removes tape from club shafts very easily. Good tool to have.

Better than a razor knife but less effective than I imagined it would be.

It would be great if the internal diameter of this tool was slightly larger than the outside diameter of a golf club shaft. That way the tool would fit around the whole shaft. It doesn't work that way so you can only scrape off a tiny bit of tape at a time. I typically still use a plain razor blade instead of this tool on steel shafts. I still use this one occasionally on graphite shafts since it's a little bit easier to use without gouging the graphite.

I compared both models of shaft grips removers. These both worked well for that but what I wanted was a tool to get the toasted old ping grips off when they get old and hard. The composite model did not cut and slice but this model cut deep into grips using sides and sharp edge. Worked pretty well rather than knife. Great ball grip to hold on to and dig into. A++ on this model.

It makes a mess, but not a big deal if you have a way to wipe off the glue, mineral spirits or something
