CaronSimply Soft Stripes Yarn - Times Square

I initially wrote a scathing review here. When the skeins arrived they were these little tiny things. Certainly not normal sized like in picture! I was furious because I was very late getting started on this wedding gift. I angrily called Amazon. The rep wasn’t very helpful. I asked for his supervisor..... I wrote an angry review.when I got off the phone I looked at the skeins and they were normal sized!!! Appears they are normal. As it turns out they were vacuum packed!! They just had to get back to shape!! Now I feel like an idiot!!

This yarn has beautiful colors and they change quite often. The only problem I have is that it's so soft to work with and the plies separate easily. It's going to be hard to work it up. I've already tried once and didn't get very far. I plan to try again soon but it may go unused if I can't get it to stay together while I work with it

I needed yarn to finish a blanket. The store was out, and I found the correct color, weight, and brand on amazon. While working with each skein I came across breaks in the yarn. They were tied together in more than one area on each of the skeins. I made it work, but I have never encountered this issue in the past. I'm not sure if this was my luck or if they were rejected skeins from the manufacturer. I actually paid more on Amazon, then in the store. Beware!

I had used Caron's Simply Soft "sunset" on another project, and while it does not have quite the feel of the yarns I like best, the color shading was wonderful so I bought it again here. Of course dye lots can differ, but I had not expected THIS difference! The yarn I originally purchased was shades of reds and browns, great for subdued coloring for Christmas crocheting projects. This yarn had no trace of red, a lot of shades of orange, and the rest brown - WAY different! I would up using it on some projects for fall/Halloween. I still had the label from my original purchase, and THAT yarn had been manufactured in a different country, which might account for the quite different colorway. It is still an okay yarn, but I would never have bought this shade.

I ordered 5 packets (of 2 skeins each) of the Sunset Autumn to use in an afghan I was making. I started crocheting and have gone thru 4 skeins without any problems. No knots or breakages. The colors are beautiful and the yarn is easy to work with. I soon realized I was going to need additional skeins and went out to order more. Each time it said there was only 1 in stock so I ordered that 1. By the 3rd order the price started to increase. The last time I went out there, the price had increased drastically from my first order. The increased price is more than I am willing to spend. Won’t be ordering anymore from them.

The yarn has beautiful bright colors. It works up nicely, with quick change of colors. My young granddaughters love the colors. It's easier to use with a larger size crochet hook than the smaller, because the yarn is not tightly twisted so the strands of yarn easily separate. It doesn't seem to happen as much with a bigger size hook.

I was delighted at all quickly it arrived and how pretty the color is. That said, I haven't yet knit up this latest purchase of a Simply Soft yarn, but I've used this brand many times in the past with good success every time. I work mostly with wool, but for gifts to those who are allergic to wool, this brand is my favorite "fall back."

Great yarn to do Color Pooling, but also disappointing skeins. With Color Pooling, the sequence of color changes has to be in a consistent order. Each skein had a knot in the middle with the next string being a different color, resulting in yarn wastage to keep up the pattern. Another skein was wound in the wrong sequence, so I had to put the yarn in a ball to use it. I love the end result with the blanket I made, but it could be a bit more user friendly.
