this flat iron works very well for both curling and straightening. the only thing i don't like is that its really uncomfortable to hold. the pattern is rough on your hands, it gave my mom a blister. i got another one but its green and its different from this one because it doesn't have a rough texture. i don't know why they're diffferent, they're both from the same collection. anyway, for this price compared to the origional its great because it works really good.

So far so good...I only say this because in Jan 2007 I ordered the pink Chi for 129.99 and it no longer works. It turns on and off at will...anyway this one works wonderfully, great color, fast shipping. It is the perfect size, that is not too large to take up space or make it hard to handle. It also gets hot and stays hot. I would recommend this product.

Two years ago these kinds of cortex flat irons were being sold at my local mall for 70-100 dollars a piece. They of course pulled you in with demonstrations and I bought one just like this one in pink. It heats up real quick feels heavier and sturdier than the chi I had before, that only lasted me 7 months or so. It took alot of falls and still worked great until we broke it completely. This one is the same quality . its great.

I am African American with natural 3c hair pattern. This product does nothing for my hair. I use the same products that I use when I straighten my hair with my other flat irons (that does a great job) but this does nothing for me.

I purchased my first cortex straightener 4 years ago at a kiosk in Florida. It just broke yesterday. I got my daughter her own 2 years ago, she has ethnic-like hair and this iron works wonders and does not damage. I am now purchasing my 3rd cortex straightener and will not purchase any other.
