Safe for senior dogs who love to chew
Perfect for senior dogs who love to chew . We fill with peanut butter or treats to keep our dogs occupied. Dogs even love playing with it without treats inside , they happily toss about to initiate playtime.

Over priced but works
My Golden likes it more when I put peanut butter in it. It is pretty much indestructible even for my dog that loves to shred soft toys, paper & sticks

Endless pleasure for my senior dog
My senior mini dachshund loves her Kong. It can be filled and frozen with so many different things. I have added mashed bananas & cinnamon, mashed sweet potato, plain yogurt mixed with fruit, etc. It has held up extremely well. It's worth the price for her happiness. She enjoys it so much!

As always, Kong is king!
This is not by any means my first Kong purchase. When we got our first little rescue dog and realized that she was both very smart and had lots of energy, our first stop was to buy a Kong Classic toy. She was about a year and a half when we got her, and it was the perfect fit. The next addition to our family (just a few days ago) was a 9-week old Husky/Jack Russell mix (I know, right?) who we were determined to raise in a healthy, well-trained way. As with any puppy, he enjoys exploring and quickly discovered that baseboards, rugs and shoes were more interesting than anything else to "investigate" with his little razor teeth. I quickly jumped on Amazon and ordered the Senior Kong toy.Now you may be wondering why I chose the Senior toy instead of the Puppy Kong, also avaialble. Really it comes down to personal preference. Despite being only 9-weeks old, the husky side of our little Nico is tough, and he has already put a few holes in the softer puppy toys from various brands that we purchased. I don't think he's quite ready for the adult Kong, so we got the Senior Kong because the documentation stated it was a little tougher than the Puppy one, but not as tough as the Adult.DESIGN/BUILDMade of durable natural rubber, this toy is thick enough that puncture marks do not create weaknesses in the structure of the toy. You see, most toys are made of theoretically durable materials (rubber, hard plastic etc) but many are flawed in design, in that a puncture mark from a little dog tooth then creates a weakness in the whole toy. Suddenly there are four or five punctures, and off comes the edge of a rubber bone. The Kong is different, in that it uses its shape and thickness to counteract this. The edges of the toy are internal, meaning it is a lot harder for a dog of any size to grab one of the edges and rip - the rest of the toy is thick enough so that you don't have to worry. When clean, this toy has the natural vanilla rubber smell that is rather pleasant. As mentioned, the durability is head and shoulders above other dog toys on the market!PURPOSEUnlike other toys, the Kong is not a chew toy per se. By making the toy hollow, the Kong Company has in fact created more of a puzzle than an easy chew, so that dogs have to work smartly to get at their favorite treats. Our new pup spends almost he chews the edges sometimes, but mostly his primary goal is the goodness on the inside.THE PERFECT KONG RECIPE:We have found this to be one of the best mixes for your pup, and healthy too!- A handful of our pup's Kibble (We use Flint River Ranch for its human-grade meat content)- A few Zuke's Mini Dog Treats - his favourite little morsels!- A few frozen blueberries, although fresh will do- Top it off and seal with some organic no-sugar Peanut ButterAs you may already know, the Kong can be frozen after it has been filled for the ultimate summer snack!OVERALLIn my first review of the Kong classic I said "I wish I had a reason to buy another", simply because I appreciated the design, functionality and cost-effectiveness. With our new puppy that reason came along (with wiggles and face kisses) and we are happy to add to our Kong collection. Oh and as for the first one we bought nearly two years ago? Almost looks like new...

Lovely new purchase for our dog.
Too bad he's so clever at getting things out quickly. Just because he's old doesn't mean he isn't fast thinking. But this will be durable.

Highly Recommend
Excellent, excellent, excellent. My elderly dogs have delicate teeth, if any at all and this long is the perfect texture/flexibility. Softer than the regulars Kongs but durable at the same time. Fun toy, my dogs love them. I fill them with treats or cheese, just about any food item, lunch meat, you name it. It keeps them busy and happy. Very safe, no pieces bitten off even by my younger dog who destroys everything. We use it like a ball in the house too.
