TimeScapes 4K [Blu-ray]

The information said the product would ship from PA, but it actually shipped from Switzerland via Swiss post. The box is in German and I was concerned that the DVD would be for region 2, but it seems to play normally so must be a region 1 DVD.The memory stick that the 4k version comes on is not fast enough to play correctly on my new Samsung TV, but transferring the file to a fast stick worked fine (I think the coding is VBR, so a fast stick is needed for the transitions). The 4k data rate is not as high as I would have liked (the file is just over 6 GB for about 45 minutes of play), but the motion scenes are very controlled so I was hard pressed to see any encoder artifacts.Even though it was released in 2012, the 4k footage is truly awesome and gives you an idea of what 4k can look like. I suspect this is because most of the scenes were shot in time lapse with a 5D mark II at full resolution and then downscaled to 4k. Also, the Red camera used for the Slow Motion scenes was quite sharp. The movie is presented in 24p, so on a computer there is some judder. On the Samsung with the smooth motion feature turned on, the images are very sharp and glass smooth. This movie is also available direct from the producer in New Zealand either as a download or on a flash stick at a higher data rate than this release, but it is more expensive and I don't think you get the DVD in the deal.

Excellent demo material for your new 4K TV. Please keep in mind your 4K HDTV needs to compatible with the Amazon Prime/Video app in order to view this in 4K. The picture quality is better than 4K streaming on Amazon or Netflix IMO, but I doubt it's better than 4K BRD (still haven't seen that format in person, yet). My only complaint is the lackluster soundtrack. It fits the video, but isn't my cup of tea. About 10 min in I fired up Pink Floyd's DSOTM (5.1 SACD). My eyes and ears were in A/V heaven.B+ Is worth $4 all day long.

Incredible views of the star, galaxies, mountains and forests. The 4K is almost 3D in quality

The BS fact is, I can't play this movie on my iMac in 4K is absurd. The only reason I bought it is the 4K. Wasted $4. Unless you have the stupid amazon streaming device, don't bother the trap!

$4 for this Ultra HD streaming title was a great deal. It was well worth it. It looks great.

Timescapes 4K has beautiful scenery with vibrant colours and relaxing music it is basically a disc to show what your 4K TV is capable of. It's nice to have in my library, but I was a little disappointed that there was no HDR option on the disc. I would have given it a slightly higher rating if it had.

Natürlich verlockt die 4K-Technologie auch Scharlatane und Beutelschneider auf den Plan. Der Versuch mit dieser Scheibe schnelles Geld zu machen dominiert den Inhalt.

Toller Film, sehr beeindruckend wie detailreich alles zu sehen ist. Ein echtes 4K Abenteuer!!Leider sind noch viele UHD Filme nicht wirklich 4K.

Habe sowohl Timescapes wie auch India in der 4K Version. An der Aufmachung ist nichts auszusetzen, aber beide USB-4K Versionen haben nur 2.0 Sound, der Timescapes-Stick hängt an mehreren Stellen reproduzierbar und der 4K-India Film ist nichts weiter als ein lieblos auf gerade einmal gut 30 min. von ursprünglich 90 min. Länge zusammengeschnittener Trailer. Das wird hier bei amazon mit keinem Wort erwähnt, lediglich ist von "längerer Blu-Ray"-Fassung die Rede.Ausserdem hat das Bild bei INDIA oftmals sehr auffällige Ruckler bei langsamen Kameraschwenks von Details wie zum Beispiel Tempel-Fassaden und sehr oft ist - gewollt? - ausschließlich die Mitte des Bildes scharf, zu den Seiten hin wie durch einen schlechten Effekt Unschärfen, die so garnicht zu dem Anspruch dieses Films passen.Zudem hat sich der Versand mehrfach verzögert, während andere Anbieter oder örtliche Händler die Versionen schon längst verkauft haben. Dabei hatte ich bereits am 16.11. bestellt. Mein Fazit: Nur für Neugierige, ich bereue den Kauf und möchte hiermit andere vorwarnen.
