Gies Dark Green Tapered Dinner Candles 24.5cm (100 Candles)

These are sold as two packs of 50 of the same colour packed together in an OEM box and then packed in another box for dispatch. I bought two different colours, blue and green, i.e. 200 candles. Not sure why they can't sell two packs of two different colours....The shipping carton wasn't very substantial for such a heavy shipment (200 candles weigh about 12 kg) and it showed damage from being dropped on one corner. However, the contents were undamaged.Price's candles appear to be self-coloured. These candles are not self-coloured; they have a coating of coloured wax on a white core. They burn evenly and don't gutter. Each candle weighs 5.7 gr, versus Price's same size, 5.2 gr each, including individual wrapper. Not sure if that makes a difference. I'm not going to time whether Gies or Price's burn longer: on the first few tests it looks as though the Gies burn time is entirely acceptable and comparable.On cost, Price's are a bit cheaper at about £17.50 for a 50-pack (versus Gies £40 for 100). However, Price's blue candles are not currently available anyway, either from Amazon or direct from Price's. So these seem a very good substitute.Minus one star for not being able to combine two 50 packs of different colours in a single order of 100.
