The good: the "carbon fiber" rod is 4" long, which is wide enough that I could mount two bike lights on it. The mount itself does appear to be made of metal, and the whole thing feels very stable. The mount comes with shims in two different lengths that allow you to securely attach it to handlebars of different widths. I also appreciate that they include a hex wrench of the correct size to attach the whole thing to your bike.The bad: I am highly skeptical that the rod/bar is actually made of carbon fiber. It looks feels and sounds like...plastic. This isn't necessarily a bad thing: I want the mount to be made of metal, but the rod/bar feels perfectly strong and rigid enough, whatever it is made of. But I dislike claiming something is carbon fiber if it isn't. The other reason for deducting one star is the price: if you look at the competing products on Amazon, $16 feels a bit steep.That said, I knew the price when I ordered and it does exactly what I wanted, so it is still a recommended product.

I bought this to attach to Brompton handlebars so I could use an iPhone mount. The quality is good for the price. The bar clamp opens completely with a 2mm hex key which is provided in the package. Included also are two rubber gaskets to accommodate different size handlebars. Unfortunately, even with both gaskets the clamp was too large for my Brompton handlebars. I managed by wrapping some electrical tape twice around the handlebars and then I was able to get enough grip for a tight fit. Once the clamp was attached to the handlebars, I opened the top clamp for the carbon fiber bar with the same 2mm hex key. The clamp had a small burr in it which scratched the carbon tube. I just rotated the tube so the scratch was out of sight. The carbon tube can be adjusted in any way from centered to just one side as shown in the photo. I was able to mount my iPhone 6 Plus mount on the bar with enough clearance for the Brompton. Does not look like it will interfere with the fold or packing the bike in a suitcase.

Bought this so I could mount headlight in center position. still enough room to mount Contour Cam on other side freeing handlebars for other things. It tightens down very securely and stays put.

Did wonders for a meter mount, plastic bushings suck, I cut up an old leather belt wrapped the handle bar and then clamped it works perfect will not slide , Other than that very nice looking and sturdy keeps my meter out of the way

Got one to put my light and horn. My handlebar is quite busy and curvy. This adapter saved me and the quality looks great. Strong!

The materials are listed as carbon fiber, but it is really just cheap plastic covered in a carbon-fiber looking laminate. Very flimsy, wont' stand up to any kind of weight or punishment.

it is a good piece the pole is too skinny for some of the items I use hoping this company makes a larger one like an inch or inch and a quarter

Does the job. The shims could be a little grippier to prevent rotation. I added a little double sticky tape.
