The helmet is in pristine edition right out of the box (even though the box was fairly damaged when it arrived). The headrest inside of the helmet is comfortable, and the helmet can be worn (somewhat).Unfortunately, the chin strap is too short and the helmet is fitted poorly. The two of these factors combined mean that the helmet is barely wearable and much too loose if your head is even slightly too small for it (which makes no sense, because even though you’re likely not using it for combat, it’s listed as a re-enactment prop). I could barely walk around whilst wearing it without the helmet moving around on my head and accidentally falling over my eyes and obstructing my vision.However, if you’re looking for a sturdy, historically-accurate decoration, this is the item for you. Don’t expect to do any physical activity, like advertised, while wearing this helmet, it simply won’t work.

I am giving this review in the light of the actual price I paid for this. It was purchased as a Warehouse Deals item, well below the cost I normally see it at. That being said it was well worth what I paid, but I would not pay $80 or the higher prices I have seen.The helmet is fairly substantial for only being 18g steel, it has the appearance of being hand made which I really like, it's not some perfect machine made helmet that each one looks the same. The helmet is large, I wear a 7 5/8 hat side, and have an oval shaped head (from top down). The helmet is probably a 7 5/8 but it is perfectly round, which meant I had to put some weight on it and force the oval shape, then adjust the suspension on the inside. It looks good, the price was right and it meets my needs.I have worn it several full days at renfest and a viking festival. Worked really well, and along with the rest of my attire garnered multiple compliments.

I wasn’t expecting very much from this helmet.Well, let’s be honest; calling it a helmet is a little misleading. It’s really just a metal hat that looks like an actual helmet. It is purely for costume purposes and wearing this in any situation that could result in a head impact would provide you absolutely no protection whatsoever. It would actually be more dangerous than wearing nothing at all. I’m not complaining about that because I purchased as a costume piece. I’m just trying to make sure we’re clear on what this thing actually is.I wasn’t expecting very much from this metal hat. It was cheap and I know that you get what you pay for.The steel that it’s made of is paper thin. So thin in fact that it had a tear on the back of the rim when I received it. That tear is also extremely sharp. If left alone it would be like wearing a razor blade at the base of your skull. That’s fun, right?When I received the metal hat it was bent and misshapen due to it having been shipped in nothing more than a large padded envelope. Bending it back to shape was fairly easy with my bare hands. It bends easily with just finger pressure.My biggest complaint is that several of the rivets were ground off completely. This one detail is exactly why I’m giving such a low rating and poor review. This ruins the hat even as a costume piece. It destroys the aesthetic and leaves sharp and irritating little burrs all over. I wasn’t expecting this to be combat ready but I was expecting it to look the way it was supposed to look.I contacted the seller and explained all of these problems in order to give them a chance to make it right in some way. The response that I got was “this is the original product. and we thank you that you appreciate”. That’s all it said. I’m not sure where the miscommunication came from. I understand that it shipped from India but the last time I checked they speak English in India. Soooo.... yeah, I don’t know.Overall, I’d say this was nearly a complete waste of money and that Queen Museum is a horrible seller. I wish that I’d purchased any one of the other similar metal hats available on amazon.
