rpi Pi 3 Model B Case PC Protective Case With 2X Heatsinks For rpi Pi 3 Model B, Pi 2 Model B & Pi Model B+ (Clear)

I wanted a basic case for a Raspberry Pi 3B+. The idea of the case was simply to make it look a little professional. A case does nothing for dust-proofing, ruggedness etc, just makes the board look less vulnerable. This product is a clear Acrylic / brittle plastic type of case. It comes with 3 heat-sinks (1 large, 2 small). The heat-sinks have 3M double-sided adhesive tape to help make the heat-sink stick to the processors.The Good:+ It's cheap and functional. The clear case gives visibility of the board.+ The case includes 3 heat-sinks in the deal.+ The 3M glue at the bottom of the heat-sink is very effective and ensures a quick and stable mount.The Bad:- The acrylic case will not survive drops. It also has a number of access holes that will allow dust to enter and settle on the board. The case did not come with rubber-pads to cushion the board and consequently the board is slightly loose inside the the case and it rattles.- The heat-sinks are Aluminum and not Copper. Copper has higher thermal conductivity. The 3M glue on the bottom is not suitable for efficient heat transfer from the processors to the sink. In my tests, the heat-sinks got warm but not hot.The Ugly:X One of the small heat-sinks is unusable. On the other hand, a heat-plate for the Elpida RAM chip on the bottom would have been useful but not supplied.X I remove a little bit of the adhesive from the bottom of the heat-sink and applied some grey Thermal Paste before re-mounting the heat-sink. The temperature of the heat-sink quickly rose to the point where it was now burning hot and too hot to touch. In summary, use thermal-paste if you can manage it.X The core temperature of the Raspberry Pi board did not drop and still rose to above 80 degree levels in sysbench tests. The idle-temperature of the board also remained at 58 degree after 1 hour. To drastically drop the temperature, the board requires active cooling such as fans, water-cooler etc.In summary, the case is a basic and functional unit suitable for projects where ruggedness is not a concern but aesthetics are. The passive heat-sinks with additional thermal paste are effective at drawing the temperature away from the CPU but not in reducing the temperatures to below non-heat-sink levels. It's a nice clear case, definitely worth the money I spent.There are 3 heatsinks 1 for processor and 2 small ones for ram.1 small heatsink is of no use, without case after just installing heatsink the PI was running around 3-4 °C cooler compared to no heatsink and case.Due to lack of ventilation after installing case and heatsink together the PI is running bit hot compared to no heatsink and case by 2-3°C.For cooler operation I suggest use Pi with the top open and heatsinks installed

Just received the case as per the delivery schedule. It fits well and all the cutouts are perfectly matched. It is supplied with three heat sink and rubber pads which is really good. Since, the adhesive of one of the smaller heat sink was already tempered, it was of no use. However, it is not a big problem as it was just a spare. Overall, happy to buy it.

Using it for my pi 3 model b...temperatures are being maintained well due to the heatsink,but the pi feels a bit loose when I turn it upside down...also I have to be careful with my sd card when I insert the pi or take it out.

Bought this for my RPi3 & it fits very well.cons:1) Does not firmly hold the RPi board since there is no screws or grew fit the screws.2) Build quality is a bit flimsy

The case is really good if u are doing projects and don't require some hard core protection for your pi.As it comes with heat sinkes that helps reduce temperature by some degrees and keeps it cooler.Worth buying for the price
