Originally recorded at Wishbone Recording Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and released on Asylum Records in 1979, Roy Orbison's masterwork Laminar Flow would unfortunately be the last studio album of new solo material that he would release in his short lifetime. This first time limited 35th Anniversary Edition was mastered by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios from the original Asylum Records tapes.

Exquisite.
This is an exquisitely good album with some of the best music you will from anybody at any time in pop/rock history. Roy's vocals are positively amazing. It's a perfect album, not one skippable track.

Laminar Flow - Roy Orbison
Great songs on here and perfect for a Roy Orbison collection.I've read some of the reviews and am shocked to here what some people have said. One review read 1 star. I absolutely love everything of Roy Orbison. One of the best of the best. If you don't like his music, then don't buy it andcriticize the album because it doesn't suit your taste. The music is still hot & playing but only to those who care for it. .

Laminar Flow
I really do not understand the reviews about this not being a good CD. It shows Roy Orbison ready to get back to work after all his health issues and that he could still churn out a good song and his voice was intact. Hound Dog Man is the song that stands out on this set and worth the price of the whole cd. He performed this song at his concerts right up to the end. I feel lucky enough enough to have seen Roy one last time about 2 months before his passing and the show was fantastic.

This gets better with time.
I hated this when it came out on vinyl many years ago. I must say it has grown on me over the years. So much I purchased the cd. In my opinion it is much better then Roy's Mercury effort. I rate it 3 & 1/2 stars.

Roy does Disco
His last album from the 70's. Includes a song with a disco beat. Maybe the only notable song on the album is "Hound Dog Man," which is a tribute to Elvis. It is actually not a bad album.

underrated
I think it is an underrated Album. it is a style change and obviously he may not have liked it much , and people that dore his 60s stuff neither, but I quite like the ambient melodies,of this Album. I do agree though with others that there are still some odd numbers like the warm spot which just corny to say the least.

Awesome
I have yet to receive my CD but I had this as an 8-track when I was very very young and I have been looking for this CD for very long time and I am so excited to get this one added back into my collection. I am so excited to hear hound dog man again!!!!!!!!

A terrible mistake
I could only listen to about 3 or 4 seconds of each track.I hate disco anyway but thought maybe 'The Big O' could succeed (with his falsetto artistry) where the Bee Gees had ultimately disappointed me. But if truth be told it's something of a disaster, and if I didn't know better I would've assumed Orbison was suffering from some sort of mental breakdown at the time of making it.

Roy can do no wrong for me!
Strange that this LP should get the lavish treatment-it was made when Roy was unwell with heart problems-and his range was affected accordingly.Even the covers betray his struggle-some front teeth had been damaged getting tubes into him and there is clear sibilance on some tracks as a result. Not his best but he never fails for me and this edition is for others who feel the same.
