Graded Repertoire for Guitar, Book Two: Book Two (Stanley Yates Series)

This is full of good pieces. There are some excellent pieces by living Composers and a well chosen selection of pieces from the classical era. It isn't full of duplications of the same old pieces that feature in other anthologies although a few welcome and necessary old standards appear. It is a pleasure to find an edition with fingerings that are very well thought out but not excessive. My students are really enjoying the repertoire. My favourite is La Luna y el sol by Jaime Zenamon. These two books provide a wealth of material for guitarists in the early years of study and will repay use by more advanced players who can memorise more difficult pieces but lack good reading skills.
