Paris Mon Amour

I love this book. I bought it a few years ago after my first trip to Paris, it was love at first sight as we drove into the city and it's still one of the great loves of my life so I started buying things to remind me of my time there. I've been back many times since then, luckily, but I still buy things to steer my thoughts back there.This book is full of old scenes of a Paris gone by. Lovely.

As a professional photographer working with both digital & medium format film cameras, the pictures in this book epitomise what photography is all about !!!A decisive moment & the true reality of life. In this world of modern technology, its wonderful to see such a beautiful collection of photographs that show how incredibly talented photographers of the past were. No pointless photoshop editing, just true talent with a camera.All in the wonderful medium of black & white, these pictures would not have anywhere near as much impact if they were colour, black & white is such a fantastic medium, one I work with 99% of the time.This book is deserving of any coffee table, and a must for any photographer, art lover, and for those whom Paris holds a place in their heart.A super book on so many levels!

Who doesn't love Paris? That, and the fact that I love old photographs, and the history of photography, makes this an ideal book for me. There are photos from many photographic greats, French and otherwise, and some I have not seen before. The text is fascinating, and illuminating, and captures the essence of Paris, and the photographs beautifully.

I wanted a gift for a friend who loves Paris. I know that this publisher produces quality books so that was an easy choice. She said she really liked it -as it arrived sealed I didn't open it as wanted to keep it as pristine as possible. Hefty book which arrived well packaged.

Next time I would purchase collections of the individual photographers instead. The photos here are grouped by subject, but to my eye it does not make a lot of sense as the pictures are still very different one from another.

Simply fantastic ! Paris as everyone loves. Nice journey into the past you can still sometimes see in Paris or in some Woody Allen movies ;-) Should be reimbursed by Paris' Tourist Office

I speak as a very keen amateur photographer, this book has given me many ideas on how to compose street images. I am off to Paris to try out the ideas. Crackin' quality book too!

This book inspired me to dig out my old film gear and set about creating some images of Sheffield. Although they don't seem to match the ones in the book I keep trying.
