Well I was delighted by the look and feel of 'Betty' the butter dish (every ornament has a name in my world!)I admired her for a day her sleek lines and subtle good looks; very classy. The tray she sat on seemed amplefor a block of butter. Sadly 'Betty' has let me down. Her sleek lines are just a little too sleek! A 250g block ofbutter, if left unadulterated, is too much for her to cope with. I tried turning the butter on its side, still too tall'Betty's' body did not sit on the tray. So I cut a quarter off the width of the block and added it to the length....hey presto...'Betty' was lying down comfortably.So all in all really nice but maybe better left as an ornament as it seems silly to mess around dissecting butterblocks.Rather sad about this really but she does look lovely so I will keep her and she arrived so promptly and all wrappedup.

You need to cut a normal size UK butter block smaller to fit in this. The top is too narrow by about 1/2 inch. I cut a strip off and laid it on top of the bigger part to be used up first. Unnecessary faff and means it will need cleaning often.

This is a really nice piece but it is too narrow to take a normal-sized pack of butter.

Looks great on the worktop, is of nice quality and is a feature, BUT will only hold 1/2 of a 250 gm block of butter, hence only 2 stars.If the looks mean more then definitely have it.If you use a lot of butter, probably not.

The butter dish looks great but it does not fit a block of butter. You have to chop the butter in half to get it all in.
