The 5 Sentence Method: How to Write Your D*mn Book, Already.

This is a craft book that's very helpful for taking a concept and finding the actual story in there. It's a quick read and it's incredibly easy to quickly reference something specific in the kindle version because of how well done the table of contents is. The 5 sentence method helps break what can feel like an insurmountable task into something manageable. I appreciate the conversational tone of this book. I do not appreciate the devastating (albeit true) analysis of the movie Onward, though I think that section was the most helpful for me as a writer.

Lots of good stuff in this book. Presented in clear bite-sized sections.I'd recommend to anyone who is still establishing how to get from idea to book efficiently.

A fast, condensed and fun read that felt as if the writer herself was explaining it over a cuppa. Thank you, Rebecca 🙌🏼

Perhaps my favorite thing was finding a type/grammar error in the section on sentence level edits. Why? A reminder that no matter how polished your work, and after multiple edits and passes ... stuff happens.I love Rebecca's online community, and her advice here is spot on - I'm in the middle of a cozy fantasy book now and so many of the exceptions ring true while still keeping to the core method.

As an author who just finished my first manuscriptI found the majority of her advice on point and helpful. I felt she spent too much time groveling around sensitivity issues , which in my opinion are beginning to become a form of censorship and stifling creativity .
