Amazing Bible 4.5 stars if I could
I have had my eye on this Bible for a while now and I am very impressed with it once it arrived. It comes in a very nice blue and black box that has a little hole to let you see what color you got. I got the KJV Dark Purple Light Purple Giant Print. The light purple color is very nice. I love that. The dark purple wraps around the edge, side and back. The leather is very nice to the touch and has that wonderful new book smell. There are tabs indented on the side, but I probably won't use those too often as I'm not a tabs person. The 15 point font size is great. Very easy to see. I don't have a hard time seeing but you don't have to try hard to read this like some of the tiny font I have in my travel Bible. The words of God in red in the Old Testament are the best thing about this Bible. I did not know God was speaking in some parts. I am reading Psalms now and was amazed when I saw red in some parts that are not quotes. Quotes of God's words are denoted by red boxes. That is such a helpful too. I wasn't sure if I should get the KJV or the KJVER. I'm so glad I got the KJV. The "hard" words are underlined and given a "newer" definition at the end of each verse though sometimes an older archaic word is not underlined while an easy word is. For example in my photo of the first page of Genesis "grass" is underlined. I think everyone knows what grass is. The alternate word is vegetation. Because of this I am glad I did not get the KJVER because God's words are specific and if it says "grass" it's "grass" not anything else. One example of a poor translation was where it mentions meat and has it underlined as food. No this changes the meaning of the word and since it was talking about sacrifice it means meat not food. Cain offered "food" and that did not sit well. So I don't use the underlined definitions too much. The names of God translated are very cool though. You get to see when he was referred to as Jehova or Elohim. The start of each chapter gives an outline, a summery of the chapter and a description of the author/s if they are known. Very interesting and helpful information. And at the back there are many interesting articles and Bible trivia to go along with the readings. Those are all the pros and why I love this Bible so much and why I am glad and think it was worth the expensive price. But now for the few cons. The weight. Well not much can be done about this and it's kind of a minor complaint. With so much information and with giant words the Bible would be a lot bigger and heavier as more pages would be needed. But I didn't think about this as I wanted this as my primary reading Bible. I'm not strong and have physical problems. This weighs 4lbs and hefting it around is like carrying around a college text book. It's not comfortable as lap reading. I do have to read this at a desk unfortunately. The Maps. For an expensive fancy Bible they sure cheaped out on the map section. I have less expensive Bibles with beautiful glossy full color maps with arrows showing travels of many of the individuals, battles etc. These maps are black line art on thin Bible paper. That's very disappointing and the maps should have been full color on thick quality paper. I am disappointed by this. But that's it. Two negatives and way more positives make this worth it. The bad maps is why if I could I would give this a 4.5 or 4.75. It would be great if there was another version in this nice color cover that had the words of God in the Old Testament in red but nothing else. Good maps at the end. This would make for a smaller lighter Bible that probably could be carried around without losing the font size and would be easy in a lap.So yes over all this is a very cool Bible and I would recommend it if you are thinking of getting it.

Best Bible on the market hands down.
I love that the fathers words are in red, because you know who is talking.

Did not meet my expectations
So this is what happened a few Sundays aback I viewed one of my sister in Christ Bible at church and for some reason I did like it. I love the fact that some words was underlined and you got the meaning at the end of the verse. And the fact that God's and Jesus word are enclosed in Red. Those are awesome features was excited about the margin study guide but am still struggling to use that aspect of it. So of course it didn't take me more than a few days to order one of these bible since I also need one. I miss the foot notes at the bottom at each page to help explain a verse or so since I was accustom to that from my previous Bible. Yes am a King James Version reader and those footnotes helps me well since I lead Bible studies often times at my church. I also thought it was a bigger bible as the one I looked at from my friend at church and also I find pages a bit hard to turn, not sure if because its new. Wasn't sure how to rate this product but because am in love with the word of God I had to give it 4. But it was going to get a 3 star..

Love this bible-helps me with the KJV
This helps a lot! For awhile was KJVO but when I cannged my position, still could read, memorize, and study from the KJV with not problems until 19 November 2004. I had been wounded in an IED ambush in Tal Afar, Iraq. Puncturing head wound to my left side. Had shrapnel in my brain and they eventually cut out a good sized chunk of my skull (have been replaced by prosthetic skull---a little bit bigger than my hand). For mist right handed people, your language functions would be on the left side of your brain.I had a lot of problems reading the KJV because of archaic word endings or thee and thou. If I got to a text that had a lot like that, would eventually arrest my mind trying to read and reread the same text until I got frustrated and stopped trying. tried the NKJV and the MEV. Problem was they departed from the KJV text too many times and would have to go find the familiar KJV to see how it was rendered. Believe me-got nearly 29,000 volume library with Logos. So yeah-to go do a word study was not the problem. What I did was copied and pasted KJV in Word and started replacing thee and though and word endings. a lot of work and a lot of time. Found this bible as that is what they did with the KJVER and no problems with archaic rendering. Love how they put the words of God in red in the OT! I like the size of the text I got but would really like to see a large print edition with one column, not two. (My hang up with trying to read). If you love the KJV and not so hung up on the Onlyism issue-this I think you will like. For me, would like to see a edition of this work in Kindle and Logos Bible Software.Even though I paid for it, thank you for making this such a valuable gift for those of us who do not do so good with the KJV but love the KJV.

Great product
Certainly a good job by Whitaker House. The underlined words with modern variants of the word certainly is helpful, and it certainly beats reading any of the modern translations. Stick to the KJV. Looking forward to some of their future KJV Bibles. Hoping for one with the Christian cross on the cover. Would also like one without the self-pronouncing text.

50 stars for this Holy Bible!!! โค๏ธ
I was looking for a kjv big font personal size bible.. while I was looking at other bibles of this category, this one alone came up as "recommended for you".. and it is was a lovely baby pink ๐ผ๐ป!!Other bibles I own are all NKJV and it's been handed over to me, they r simple compact size or Personal size bibles.Dec 2018 I wanted a KJV bible and I was v picky about it cos I wanted it to be perfect and the only one that I'd want to use anytime and not requiring to alternate with other bibles, for the upcoming years that God willing He adds for me to grow in His knowledge, to love & serve Him :)Soft to touch n hold, Its v nice to read cos of the generous font size and words underlined with meanings given and cross refs.. wonderful is the grace I received for such a find!!! I can quietly study with this and hardly need to look up the internet anymore for help.. they've given some historical facts n figures n lots of interesting information to read.., so it's really nice overall to carry around and read in your spare time ๐They have provided tabs. and although it's been 2-3 months since I've been using this bible, I'm still finding it a little difficult to quickly turn to the specific book and chapter with a delicate hand ๐it's a study bible, and 2 inches thick! So to carry in a handbag and for quickly turning pages it's not the best.If u want a personal STUDY bible, go for this, but there r few others in Thomas Nelson bibles to name one, that u might want to look into as well before finalising with one. Also it's really cool that Gods word in OT also is in red letters that makes this one a truly unique bible.

Easy Read for sure!
Really liked this KJVer bible, real leather, indexed and giant print!, finding a cover to fit isnt that hard but finding one that I like for it is a problem LOL but seriously there are no issues with this, it is a translation that I can trust, love that Gods words are in red, and changed words are underlined with explanations, lots of great added info about the books and maps with a good concordance as well, quality seems good so far ..... only time will tell if it hangs together!
