This was my first time installing a barn door soft close. Installation was very simple, it probably took less than 10 minutes. I have a 8’ x 3.5’ door that weighs roughly 150lbs. Will buy again for the next door.

Huge upgrade to my bathroom barn door. Luckily my door to the bathroom isn’t too heavy so this upgrade wasn’t entirely necessary but boy did this make a difference. Packaged very well and included instructions made installation a breeze. Definitely raise the quality level to the feel of the barn door and barely - almost not noticeable change to the aesthetic of the door. Happy with this clever upgrade.

I built my own barn door and it’s not crazy heavy, maybe 80lbs. However, when I slide it, the door just keeps going and a lot of the time it smashes into the ends. This is the perfect solution for this. It’ll look intimidating when you open the package up but it really takes like 15min to install. Makes a world of difference

Bought 4 for light Barn-door. Two worked well for 1 week. The other two failed from the onset.

When I opened up this product I saw a lot of parts and one half sheet of instructions and immediately thought this was going to be quite the challenge. But to my surprise it was fairly straight forward an easily installed.My sliding "barn" door is an interior door and quite heavy. So closing it and opening it could easily get away from folks visiting our home. While there is a definite stopping point this soft close kit really does the trick to bring the door to a "soft" landing. Installing this eliminates the possibility of the door sliding open or closed to hit hard on the stops provided with the door and roller mechanism (resulting in unwanted rebounding).Great idea and a great fix. And it takes about 30 minutes to install.

Overview:As described.Experience:Very good quality, not so easy to install if your rail stand offs are in the way, kind of a hit and miss thing. As to function it's amazing the soft/self close works like magic . Unobtrusive and though plastic it is heavy duty and can accommodate some real weight. Comes with multiple shim plates and plenty adjustable to work in most situations without fuss. Overall a very nice high quality barn door upgrade that won't break the bank.

I installed two of these on our master closet barn doors (solid pine), and they work great! I use them for soft close, but they could also be mounted for soft open. Mounting can be a little tricky if the space between the top of the door and the barn door track is not within the requirement of the closure mechanism. I had installed my doors with too large a gap so I had to add a small block for the plate to engage correctly. I like the soft close feature and the way it holds the doors closed. These have been a good addition to my existing barn door hardware.

Install is easy, just mount the hooks to the closer, the closer to the rail and the stops to the door. It takes a bit of adjusting to get everything just right, but it is all very easy and straightforward. My door is on the light side and had an issue where it would be opened and closed with too much force, this closer remedies that. The plastic construction seems to be holding up for now, time will tell how durable it is.
