Satisfied again.
Accenta Optima G4Purchased together with an Accenta LCD Remove Key Pad. This is my third Accenta Alarm but with a ten year gap I needed a few reminders. Mine is a standard set up with Prog 1 for front door and key pad in the hall and Prog 2 for night use.Prog. 1 needs zone 1 Timed and zone 2 Inhibited. For Prog 2 it is zone 2 Timed. All other zones are immediate except any not needed [usually upstairs] in Prog2.Setting up instructions are in 6 sections in the Engineer’s manual. Section 1. Used zones are OFF if they are to be something else like Timed, or are those not needed in Prog 2 – all others ON. Sections 2 and 3 should be set as mentioned above. In Sections 4 and 5, 30 seconds is the default but note the Accept stage at the end. Section 6, for me, needs to be Timed in both Progs. – check, it may be Disabled when supplied.User codes will need to be changed from factory settings. Do this from User Guide as Engineer’s manual leaves out the first stage – briefly, this is Press P, and then enter factory code. Then 8.

Volume control backward.
Bought as a replacement for a 30 year old Optima panel that finally gave up. Easy enough to install - the zones you are not using can either be bridged out or set as unused through the engineering setup. One slight issue - the panel is very quiet, until you realise that the volume control on the board is wired so that *anticlockwise* makes it louder!

Confusing instructions.
Pity the instructions on fitting and using the alarm are limited and above all, why it did not reveal the actual size of battery needed because the slim variety seems to be the one which is required as the actual size of the control panel has now been made narrower in depth which then led to having to find a source of battery suppliers, which all took time before the appliance could be utilised.Guess I should have waited and purchased a different make of burglar alarm.

Optima replacement alarm panel
Nice compact panel. Easy to set up. On the down side the illuminated keypad is very dim and the entry / exit sounder volume is too low.

Excellent replacement for an old Optima panel
Excellent panel which was an ideal replacement for an ancient Optima panel. Only words of caution it is a compact box to fit everything in, so patience and dexterity are required. Also, if you do not need some zones they will need to be bridged.

Potentially dangerous
Incorrect wiring of mains to / from transformer (live output wired to Earth connection!). So I wonder what else is amiss as the system is very difficult to program and system will not set.. I wish I had gone for one with a LCD
