Works well. Very easy to set up.
I read a lot of the reviews out there before I bought this. There were a lot of poor reviews and a lot of good reviews. I ended up buying this and I am pleased with it. For starters, I wasn't 100% sure if this access point was going to be compatible with my weather station. I reached out to Acurite's tech support and they got back to me within an hour. Set up was a piece of cake. Everything was up and running in no time. This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to be able to view my home weather station info remotely and share my weather station data with Weather Underground. Both work perfectly. Since this purchase I have gotten an add-on temperature/ humidification sensor for my chest freezer. Set up for the additional sensor was a breeze and now I have alerts sent to my phone if the temperature gets to warm. A little pricey for the access point but I would definitely recommend.

I Hate AcuRite but...
So I broke down and bought the new AcuRite Access because I was basically forced to if I wanted to continue to use their service, since they cut off access to the old one. I bought two of the old ones, one of them only five months ago. This one works exactly the same as the old one which I never had a problem with. If they wanted to bring in a new one for whatever reason, fine, but I don’t understand why both can’t work. Everyone who bought the old one, especially recently, got screwed like me. I would have rather been charged a monthly fee since I’ve been using it, then AcuRite getting more money out of me this way, I can justify that at least. I feel so screwed over this way, and there are other words I would like to throw around, but obviously can’t in this review. As for the new access itself, it works, works great, but so did the old one, and it works exactly the same as far as I can tell so far. Same exact info, same accuracy, same update times, same everything. Breaking down and buying the new Access was a lot cheaper then buying a whole new system from another company. Just know AcuRite, I hate you more than the Dallas CowBoys.

ACURITE ACCESS
This should have came with the weather station purchase. This needs to be plugged into an ethernet cable to function, it will not wifi to the router. Don't know the full range, but I was surprised it connected with the weather station, maybe 100 feet, through 3 walls and some other metal obstructions. If you want the convenient phone app to work, this is pretty much a must have, you can plug the display unit into a PC with a usb cable, but the PC must be on constantly for it to work the phone app, this device is much better works independently of computers.

Follow the instructions and setup is a breeze! This thing is great!
This is great! I saw all the negative reviews then did more research and found most of the negative reviews were from a small group using old hardware. I took it out of the box and followed the instructions and it works great. It uses very little bandwidth. The only issue there was had nothing to do with Acurite. Weather Underground only let's you use one station ID for each piece of hardware that transmits to their site.It took me just a few minutes to create a new station ID on the Weather underground site. The whole thing was up and running very quickly! The main thing that makes a difference here is follow the instructions. They are there for a reason!

In contrast to all the bad reviews my unit performs flawlessly.
I was pretty disturbed by Acurite's decision to shut down consumer access to their previous hub product and force all customers to either move off their platform or invest in this new device. I looked into alternatives but in the end it boiled down to cost. Rather than replacing all the components of my weather station I chose to go with simply replacing the hub; especially since I got it on sale for $99.99. The switch was very simple and the new hub just took over and seamlessly continues to contribute weather data to my Weather Underground account. All of the weather history from the old hub device is now being added to from the new Access device with no issues. All aspects of my weather Underground account remain unchanged. Before I committed to the upgrade I was very concerned with all of the negative reviews, I never the less moved forward with the change and all is ok. I guess they must have addressed issues in the firmware because I have had no problems since it was installed almost two months ago.

Extremely difficult to set up this weather station on the monitor and Wi-Fi for your computer
I’ve purchased three Atlas stations over the past 3 years, so troublesome to set up, to get data (and only 30 days worth and you have to wait for an email ), get the monitor to work with Wi-Fi, to get the desktop connection to work. And so hard to keep it up and running. After being extremely annoyed when both stations went down again, I bought an Ambient weather station. Wow! What a difference with modern weather station technology. Easy to set up, connects to the Wi-Fi straight away. Data seems to be more precise and accurate. Hello Acurite, your technology seems to been developed in the 2000s and it’s not been updated. I really wish I could get my money back.

Works perfectly
UPDATE 4/20/2023: Well, AcuRite did it again. Access is no longer available. Per email from AcuRite Support "Due to a critical internal component being discontinued by our supplier, AcuRite Access will no longer be available. Support for existing Access previously purchased will continue. In the future, we will provide a new solution with similar functionality to the Access that allows for multiple sensor connections for display on My AcuRite. While we do not have a timeline for the launch of the new product, we encourage you to monitor AcuRite.com for the latest updates.I'm pretty disappointed in AcuRite for discontinuing the Access. A lot of users have that expensive device to communicate with the Internet.--------------------------------------------------------After struggling with the old style hub for a year I thought I'd try the new and improved Access. Well, it was easy to set up and works perfectly. AcuRite got this one right. I would recommend this item.
