Hoping this will make it a good year for the roses.
I acquired this fertiliser from the Amazon Vine program and because I am obliged to do so I am writing this review before I am able to fully able to decide whether it is any good. I have been using it for a few weeks now and whilst the initial results seem promising it is far too early pass judgement. Fingers crossed that it is good as they say it is though, as my wife is expecting her best ever display of roses this year! I'm hoping that it works too, simply because it is so convenient to use. It comes in a resealable tub, which ensures that will generally be in good condition, and it is easy to apply – it is so rich in nutrients that you need use relatively little when compared to other fertilisers. There is no getting over the fact that it pongs a bit but if it proves to be effective that will a small price to pay.I gave the product the middle rating, three stars, simply because it would be unfair to award any other rating until I know if it works or not.

Very easy and clean to use
I am holding back a star as I don't know how well it has worked yet. Just applied; so will need a few months to see results. I can say it is very easy and clean to use. It is quite dry and fibrous so spreads very easily among plants. It does not have an offensive smell ( not suitable as an after shave but not as bad as some animal based composts) and has not attracted animals to where it has been spread. In fact it is so easy to use, I spread the whole tub around fruit and vegetables in less than half a hour.

Great.
A lovely large 'pot' of chicken poo. Yes, it smells a little in a confined space, but you should store it in an outside store. It goes a long way and is really useful in many ways in the garden. Much easier to handle than other forms of manure and it does a good job I find with my vegetables, quickly disintegrating into the soil after rain.

Easy to use.but please not on acid loving plants..
Vitax 4 kg 6X Fibrous Fertiliser is very easy to use and with the ease of use, it is now the matter of waiting to see if indeed it does add to my plants, tree etc. I am especially interested in this product if it improves my roses as the past couple of years they have wilted rather than bloomed, but with the continuous wet weather we have been getting in this country I have to presume the roses have simply not been drenched with the sunlight they need to produce the blooms I know they are able to give me.One thing you will notice when the lid is removed is the strong smell which is not that pleasant, but this is to be expected when it is a natural product. I do love the richness of the product, as the quality of the fertiliser is evident when I applied it to my plants etc, as it is very easy to see when a compost or organic matter like this is a rich substance. It is soft to the touch and very easy to work into the soil surrounding the plants etc. I would recommend you water after applying to allow the richness of the product to enrich the roots of the plants and trees.I will update this review as time goes on. I would happily purchase this again as the large plastic container is packed full of rich fibrous fertiliser enriched with chicken manure. I would also recommend not to use this poultry manure on acid-loving plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas etc. It is easy to find the full list of plants like these.

Vitax fertiliser
I have tested this product over several weeks - and have been suitably impressed.I used it in pots and in hanging containers and have found the growth to be improved and the water retention to be increased - I had to leave for a few days and the plants were still flourishing after having no water over a dry and very warm spell.I did not notice the fertiliser to smell too badly. It has apparently been heat treated to sterilise - this may have reduced the odour. The price is perhaps a factor as this product is higher than other brands however I have tried a few over the years and rate this product very highly.

Fertiliser
This is a fibrous chicken manure sterilised fertiliser from Vitax which is just the job for use in the garden - saves having to follow a horse with a bucket and spade ...happy spreading :).

Excellent first impression
I picked this up for my back garden. Was interested in it as I have a number of plants of different types around the borders and was looking for something that would give them an all round boost .As I have two dogs it was vital that it was pet friendly and whilst your dogs shouldn't really be eating this it shouldn't cause any more problems than a poorly tummy if they do. If your dogs are a anything like mine they'll eat worse on a walk out!It has a bit of a smell from the tub but not one that I found particularly lingered after it had been mixed into the soil. It was easy to put out and work with. Time will tell I suppose with the results but first impressions are excellent.

Easy to use - review updated
Very easy to use, just sprinkle a handful around your chosen plants, water in and wait (a second application can be given later). By way of a very unscientific test I have applied this to some roses and a few other plants but not others; obviously results are not immediate, so I will update this review when appropriate with the results.[UPDATEA couple of weeks after the second application the plants are doing well, good strong foliage compared to some which did not receive the fertiliser, and a previously ailing rose has done especially well. Of course this is not conclusive, as there are other factors to consider and it was a far from a test of scientific standards. But it is enough for me to consider using it again, that is if I can put up with the ripe farmyard smell which lingers for a least a week after application. End of update]As the description says this is a fibrous fertiliser, it looks a little like dry loose peat, but be warned, it is definitely rather whiffy - don't open it indoors! - and the smell lingers in the garden.I've applied this to about thirty to forty plants at the recommended rate and have used about half the bucket, leaving enough for a second application.
