Works great
I absolutely love that people looking at it would assume it's a USB flash drive. It works as it says, it's very easy to use, it sounds great, and not a bad price at all

Spy recorder, decent audio, good VOR, 9-15 hour continuous recording
The media could not be loaded. This NPTCL 32GB USB recorder works decently for its purpose, as a spy recorder (check your state laws for legality, search for "one-party consent"). It makes trade offs to work best for that purpose so is poor as a general-purpose voice recorder.Controls are minimal and the LED goes dark after recording starts. Sound quality is decent for voice when on the higher quality setting (see video). Battery life is around 9 hours at highest quality, more for lower quality. It looks just like a flash drive and could be kept on a keychain.Voice-operated recording (VOR) works decently. It did not cut off the beginning when I started talking, or the end of my sentence when I stopped.Setting options is a little unconventional, involving editing numbers in a text file. I like it because it's easy enough, and doesn't require installing any software. I use Linux and Mac OS so this is essential.Internally it has an 80mA battery. The flash is high-quality MLC Intel 29F32B08NCMFP.I had an issue with the unit locking up and the manufacturer offered good support, giving a few options. I chose to download a firmware updater that fixed the issue and I haven't had any problems since. It's not without some minor issues:* It's SLOW as a flash drive. Reading is 7MB/sec and writing is 4.3MB/sec. So not suitable for large media files.* Battery life will only be 9-15 hours of recording (based on quality). Even VOR mode will only run for 11 hours or so, regardless of whether there's any sound.* When starting a recording it takes about 8 seconds before the red LED stops flashing and recording actually begins, which is a little slow.* Mic is not internally right next to LED hole so the sound is a little muffled. With the plastic shell removed sound is clearer.* There's an odd very faint flowing water sound in the background of recordings, even at the highest bitrate. It's louder with higher gain settings. I think the gain settings also do some background noise suppression when set low.* Battery inside is 80mAh, not 120mAh.* Even though it has a mono mic, it records stereo WAV files so they take up twice the space they need to.

decent recorder
This functions as a handy pocket recorder. ITs small and has plenty of capacity to record through the day. It has very poor instructions. So its very bare bones in set-up but that says it does its job of recording which you can then playback on the PC later.

Handy Recorder For Taking Notes Throughout My Day
The media could not be loaded. I got this recorder to carry in my pocket for taking notes throughout the day. I like the idea that it is small and easy to use. This recorder came in a small tin (similar to an Altoid’s tin). I will keep the packaging and use it to store the recorder when I want to carry it in my tech bags or in my purse. There is extra space in the tin, so I can add another zip drive or extra adapters if I want. Having this tin will make it so much easier to find. The instructions came on a business card that was inside the tin. How handy! I am less likely to lose them. The recorder looks like an ordinary zip drive, but on the one side is an on/off switch and a light. The light turns on solid red when you set the switch to the “on” position. It then flashes a few times and goes off to indicate you are in recording mode. The exterior of the recorder is a smooth plastic material. It feels nice in my hand. The top has a hole where you could slip a chain or ribbon through if you wanted to wear the recorder around your neck or on a key ring. The other end has a removable cover over the USB-A connector. The recorder also came with a USB-A to USB-C adapter for newer computers or phone devices. When you charge the device, the red light will flash. A blue light will come on when the recorder is fully charged. There is a warning that if you are in the middle of recording to not connect to your computer. This will lose your recording. (I don’t see this as a big deal or even something I would even do).The recorder records in WAV format. I tested the recorder at about a foot to 18 inches from my mouth and it picked up my voice fine. I was able to listen to the recordings on my Windows 11 computer without additional software. When you plug the recorder into the computer, there were two folders and three files resident on the drive. One of the folders is marked “Time Synchronization”. There is an application to sync the time on the recorder with your computer’s time in that folder.I really like this little recorder. My days are hectic and it is so handy to have a “pocket assistant” to record notes on. I really like the size and ease of use. As a side, I really like how it was packaged in a way that I don’t have to toss it out, but will reuse it. I would totally recommend this product and I give it 5 stars!

Voice Recorder that looks like a Flash Drive. Easy on/off switch and files in date/time order.
Review for: NPTCL 32GB USB Voice Recorder Flash Drive Audio Recorder Voice Activated USB Recording Device Rechargeable Digital Voice Recorder with Timer for Lectures MeetingsThis Voice Recorder took 3 weeks to arrive. It came in a small tin box about 3.5" x 2.5" x 5/8" (9cm x 6.5cm x 1.5cm). Inside was the Voice Recorder, User Manual and a USB-A to USB-C adapter. The recorder is the size and shape of a regular Flash Drive, about 2.75" x 13/16" x 5/16" (7cm x 2cm x 8mm), and weighs only 11g! It is glossy black with rounded edges. There is a sticker that says "32GB." There is a cap over the USB end, and a hole on the other end to attach a cord or keychain (not included). I was able to put it on my keychain with no issues. There is a simple on/off switch on the side for recording. The recorder is supported by Windows XP and above, MAC OS10.4 and above, and Android and Linux. On the computer, it comes up as an external drive named "VOICE." The folder "RECORD" has the recordings in date/time form. i.e. 20231013022324.wav is October 13, 2023 at 02:23:24 (2:23am and 24 seconds). The recorder creates WAV files. The other folder is "Time Synchonization Tool". Just double-click "SET DISK TIME.exe" and it will bring up the time and date from your computer. Hit "SetTime" and you're good to go! I would recommend setting the date and time before anything else so the files will be in the correct order with the correct date/time.When I ejected it, it was called "HS USB FlashDisk"The manual states it takes 2-3 hrs to charge. While charging, the red light will flash slowly. When fully charged, there is a solid blue light. The recorder was fully charged when it arrived. It should be able to record on a full charge for 24hrs. According to the manual, the 32GB drive should be able to record for 384 hrs. When turned on to record, there is a solid red light, then it flashes 5x then goes off. It is now recording. There won't be any lights again until it is turned off, and then it will flash once. The "On" is toward the USB end, and then "Off" is toward the indicator light/ string hole. The only indicator of which direction is which is a tiny arrow on the switch itself, pointing to the USB end. The easiest way to tell is the light is solid then flashes 5x for "On" and only flashes once for "Off".There is also a way to program the recorder to schedule a recording start time, length of recording and how many times it repeats. See the manual for details. The Voice Activation is also a setting that needs to be revised to use. It has options from 0 to 1-7 depending if all the words you want are being recorded or not. The higher levels require higher voice decibels so may fail to record a lower voice. This Voice Recorder works the same as many of the smaller ones I've tried with a simple on/off switch. I like how compact it is and being on my keychain will make it easier to record important information. I will update when I know how long each file records for.The sound quality is about the same as the other Voice Recorders I've used.Update (Oct 29, 2023): Voice recordings are 5hrs long or around 560,000KB. I've removed one star because when you forget to turn it to off, you end up with a huge file. I prefer the ones that make a new file every 15mins or at least every hour, so you can easily locate what you need by the time.

Compact, discreet and sound quality is pretty good
This is pretty useful for me when it comes to recording conversations that I may need to go over later, sound quality is pretty decent for such a small discreet device, I can make out some pretty quiet talking, though it can still be harder to hear in a noisy room, in an office setting or car it should be plenty good.Voice activation however is a bit finicky, I've experimented with different levels and I found level 3 to be the moist likely to catch anything I need, but that can vary significantly depending on the environment.my favourite thing is how simple it is to use, I can record or stop with my eyes shut since there's only the one button, no fumbling or guessing which button to press if I can't look at it.Overall this is pretty useful and decent quality for the price, you can fit it almost anywhere too, you can record your conversations without having a mic or phone out in peoples faces and making others feel nervous or self conscious.I'd definitely give it a thumbs up

Very easy to use, but sound quality off a tad
At the size of a standard usb stick, a simple slide up on, then down to auto save and turn off it's very very easy to use. That gets it 50 stars as other recorders need to be as simple as this one.Sometimes, you need to start recording something NOW 4 seconds ago, not in 6-7-8-9 whatever seconds it takes to turn on, press some buttons, start recording etc.. so really strong points for that. Flip the switch and within a second and a half it's starts up and is already trying to grab audio.Bringing us to the not so good part - the audio quality. Ermm unless you are in a meeting with this clearly on the desk where everyone is conversing, the audio pickup will be poor. On my desk with the tv volume up past what I normally would listen at it could only faintly capture Clarkson's bellowing when Hammond reversed into his sports lorry. Tisk... I tried in the jeans penny pocket stealth audio capturing...muffled audio, not sure it would be admissible in court type thing...Tisk.So really, excellent "ease of use" to record, plug to pc , edit settings AND straight copy the small audio files (.wav format) but really get this for open desk meeting recordings and things of that nature rather than spycraft.
