Who designed this?!
Seriously, someone at Mantic Games needs to re-think this. All the pieces are tiny, even the dice. Three of the models need putting together and they just fall apart. The playing surface is made of mouse mat like material, and because it’s been folded into quarters in the box it has hard creases running through it, making standing all the scenery and playing pieces on it impossible. The rule book is long and littered with spelling mistakes. There’s no cheat sheets for each playing model so you constantly have to refer back to the correct page(s) of the rulebook. Tediously, players won’t stand in their hex bases securely adding to the fiddliness of everything. Also, Mantic made bizarre choices like the inclusion of only two ‘injured player’ models, not one for each team member. The reason’s probably buried in the aforementioned poor rulebook but I refuse to re-read it for my own sanity. All of these things amount to a frustrating and boring game which uses an endless supply of cheap cardboard counters to track everything. It’s such a shame - this game could’ve been a mainstream hit - but poor game mechanics, fiddly playing pieces and a mangled playing surface make this annoyingly and frustratingly dull. If Mantic Games wants Dreadball to take over from Game Workshop’s Blood Bowl, they’ll have to do much, much better than this. Disappointing.

Space-bowl, but smaller
Well there are certainly some cons here, but also some pros.Con : Tiny miniatures, poor quality molding and poor construction where they are pre-assembledPro: you get plenty of models in the box, allowing some variation in gamesPro: you get an A4 full colour rulebookCon: which doesnt contain any information on any assembly, and can also seem vague in placesAlso doesn't mention that the game is a 14+ in the description, but personally this wont be too much of an issue for me. Must mention again that the models are not very good quality, with bad moldlines. The plastic used isn't great. and very small and fiddly, which when your moving pieces isn't a good design point. Also dont fit into the bases snugly, so you're going to need some blutack, and you will need to use the bases as not all models are stable. Probably should have got BB instead.

Great fast fun game
A brilliant miniatures game that is fast and doesn't take forever to play. You get 2 full teams a set of MVP and 2 sponsor figures. In addition you get a deluxe playing board and a set of obstacles. All the figures will need painting but that isn't really needed but does make it a better game experience many love this part of the miniatures hobby. It allows you to personalise the team your way, many hobbyist enjoy seeing how others interpret the same set of figures. The game it's self is easy to play and more importantly FUN.The price is a bargain even just for the miniatures.I my opinion this and the original game are much better than a certain game that folk say this is based on. If blood bowl is the NFL then this is NBA

Great game
Great game. Fun, fast and brutal. Great stand alone addition to the Dreadball world. Where the miniatures can be used from/in the main Dreadball game if you want. Even works with the new Dreadball2 out now on KickStarter.
