OK so the M200's were my favorite speaker and I ordered these as soon as I saw them. Here to compete against the new S3000Pro Edifier. And while the Edi's have these beat on tech. Pretty seriously beat. These still have that swan magic. I cannot tell you how loud they are. I have chickened out every time I try to push them because of my hearing and not the speakers breaking up . The Metal remote is perfect except for the lack of BT Control buttons. These are simpleton speakers that perform like I only dream speakers perform. Edifier are work-horses that will fit a more tech orientated setup.

5 stars with one caveat
My previous desktop speakers—the Audioengine A5 and the KEF X300A—were both fantastic speakers with minor flaws that in time grew into big pet-peeves. The A5, for example, put out a crisp, warm sound with a thick mid-bass response, but unfortunately, no matter how I positioned the A5s, I couldn't get them to produce a focused stereo-image: the type of image that should place the vocalist into the “sweet-spot” at the center of your near-field listening position. The KEF X300A, on the other hand, had no problem producing this effect and many other pleasing effects associated with a wide soundstage. But the X300A's sound lacked body and warmth, and though its bass was impressively tight, the KEF's all too often sounded anemic (or maybe "polite" is a better word) with more bass-demanding genres: rap and electronica, say.Enter the Swans M200MKIII: These bad-boys marry the best qualities of the A5 and the X300A while avoiding their respective problems. The MKIII, as a result, can produce an impressively coherent stereo-image with a wide sweet-spot (for a desktop setup at least) that puts the vocalist right where she belongs: at the center of a wide and passably holographic soundstage. And this 3D effect does not diminish or come at the expense of the MKIII's less esoteric attributes: bass response, for example.Speaking of bass. Hot-damn! The MKIII can reproduce those visceral and thudding beats found in dubstep and electronica and still sound as tight as a coiled spring. These speakers can even play a 40 Hz test tone without noticeable distortion. An amazing trick for a desktop speaker system boasting 5-inch woofers. My only complaint: The MKIII is a bare-boned system. You can connect them to your source via the (provided) analog cable--and that's your only option! If you require USB or Optical or Bluetooth options, you're out of luck. I can live without these features, though this might be a deal-breaker for some folks.Anyway, I'll give the MKIII 5 stars, despite the lack of (expected) audio features.UPDATE: HiVi has produced a new model of the M200MkIII--the M200MkIII+--which addresses my one complaint by adding Bluetooth and Optical options. I'm tempted to upgrade, but because I purchased the MkIII during a flash-sale for an absurdly trivial sum, I'll probably stick with the older model. One final note: These speakers sound even better after a few months of "break-in." No exaggeration: These speakers impress me anew just about every day. The price to performance ratio is exceptional.

BUY THESE!
Will update after a few months of listening...[UPDATE]Its been about 6 months since I purchased these and nothing can come close to the amazing sound I get from these speakers. I'm still "only" hooking them up to an old Audioengine D1 DAC/AMP combo and still the sound is rich and full. These speakers are big so be aware you have enough desk space. They look great and sound even better. For powered speakers, Swans is a sleeper brand but should not be overlooked!Over the course of the 6 months, music became clearer (perhaps break-in is a "thing") and I enjoy listening to my music all over again; hearing new details that I could not before.I am not sure if these are "professional" or "mastering" speakers but for the average audiophile for home listening, I can not think of many better than these.Get yourself a pair of these and do not look elsewhere.Where do I start:BUILD: These speakers are top notch. They come in a nice white cloth cover and the foam protects them for damage during shipping, so check right there. These speakers are tanks, they each weight at least 20 lbs. The 'main' speaker has all the inputs and the passive speaker has two connections, power and from the main speaker.SOUND: While I have only had a few hours with these, I already want to listen to more and more of my old music. In short, I'm hearing detail that I never thought I could from speakers. I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan and in certain tracks where I thought it was silence, I can hear instruments playing. I am coming from Hivi M10 speakers which I bought in 2009. They still work so anyone looking for a good, long last speakers should consider those. Anyway, the sound from these speakers are very detailed. Bass is ok, highs are ok, but man, that detail and clarity.I have these hooked up with the included cables (may upgrade in the future) to a simple Audioengine D1 Dac/amp combo. I will be upgrade this soon to a Schiit Joten due to the XLR connections. But I wanted to see how much difference changing one part of my audio set up can be.These speakers are on my desk, about 3.5 ft apart and about 2.5ft away from my head. I really like these angle upwards oh so slightly so no need for stands. Hivi knew these were meant for desktop use and already fixed the angle.SHOULD YOU BUY: Yes and yes and yes. Active speakers like this one is a good value since you do not need to purchase a dac and/or amp. In fact, they come with Bluetooth which can be paired with almost anything nowadays. Set up for that was easy!

After 12 months of easy, delicate use, these speakers are falling apart.
These speakers are a hit and miss proposition. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. After 12 months of use, these speakers have started to break down. Sometimes 1 speaker works. Sometimes no speakers work. Sometimes the left speaker doesn't work. Sometimes the right speaker doesn't work. Occasionally, both speakers work. After a lot of research, I found out how to reach this company. They DO NOT reply to any of my requests for assistance.Knowing that these speakers are breaking down after 10 months, I would not buy Swan Speakers - T200C again. Hindsight is 20-20. In my opinion, buyers should avoid these speakers and this company that in my opinion DOES NOT stand behind the junk products that it sells to unsuspecting buyers. If I could give these speakers a zero star rating, I would. Unfortunately, I have to give them a minimum of 1 star.
