They are a type of hard like plastic the top of the button does have a rubber type grip in the design however if this is your first time buying control freaks then make sure you get the right size and the right set up since some packs like this one have one tall stick and a short stick just look at the packs that you think you would like since like i said they have different options on sizes

Q: Will these fit on the dual sense edge?

Yes i had originally bought them for the dual sense however ill tell u to be careful when putting them in and taking them off if ur not careful you could damage ur joysticks
