The kid in this book isn't assigned a gender, which is nice. I have a son, though, and it's one of the few books I've found that features (what I'll call a) mom-son relationship I like. The mom isn't nagging, teaching a lesson, or doing the dishes--I see you Mamma Llama!! And while there is nothing wrong with books set on a farm or a detached home, this book is a nice reflection of city living.

This books read almost like poetry. It's cadence is incredibly calming. Our family lives in a city, and we love books that reflect our environment and how the moon "hides" from our view as we move about our neighborhood. My daughter has a special fondness for moon-gazing, so this book was a wonderful holiday gift for her.

Love this book so much! I’ve bought it for my daughter and several other kids (for bday gifts). The illustration is my fave, it’s kind of hipster and cool. Great for kids growing up in a city! Perfect book to add to your collection.

We purchased this book shortly after publication and it does not disappoint. My son loves to spot the moon at night, so it is particularly appropriate. At 2 years old he can follow the story and illustrations, and I can see how he will enjoy this book still for years to come.

For any mom who has taken her kiddo out at night for a peaceful walk enjoying the lights and moon this is for you. Like another reviewer mentioned it was refreshing to see a mom wearing current clothing and engaged in something so beautiful with her child. This captures the magic of a city at night and we enjoyed seeing what people were doing through the window view illustrations.

My 2 year old (almost 3) loves this book. She is enchanted by the moon and always looks for it so this book is very fitting. Cute illustrations!

My 4 year old son loves this book and asks me to read it to him every night. The illustrations are so cute and sophisticated and the story is warm and cozy that you just want to keep reading with your little one. Totally recommend!

We love this book. Our 22 month old has been very upset to not see the moon on cloudy nights. This book is a nice way to still have the moon in our day. The story is sweet and the art is beautiful.

Absolutely lovely story And my 2.5 year-old gets very excited when she sees the moon peeking out. The version I got had a different cover than shown, which isn’t a big deal. I was happily reading the book until I came to the last page, and saw that there’s a big piece of it torn off. So I can’t give it as a gift, as I’d planned to, which is disappointing. It also arrived a week later than the latest date expected. Overall, a bit disappointing, but the vendor responded quickly with a refund, so very kind.
