Pretty good sketchbook
It’s a nice sketchbook with good quality paper. There was a little dent in the corner on the front (which I expected after reading some reviews and of course it being delivered from Amazon) but no affects to the paper inside which I’m really pleased about :)

Great quality sketch books for illustration students
These were the recommended artist sketch books for my daughter's University, where she's due to start her illustration degree shortly. These are exceptional quality, from a reputable company. The pages are really nice paper and the hard back cover is perfect to protect her work.We ordered 2 as the price on Amazon was very good compared to the high street.Definitely well recommended and a University essential if you're studying illustration.

Does exactly what you need
Great sketchbook. Textured pages are great for graphite. Folds flat. Thick paper. Good sturdy cover. You can bash it around pretty hard and it will be fine. It takes water-colour OK but markers often bleed through, so I have a page of scrap paper behind the page I am working on. I personally prefer to draw on smooth paper than textured, but that's just my preference. The only niggle I have is that the pages are so thick that they don't bend at the hinge after about 20 pages or so, they bend slightly into the page. Not worth removing a star over, its pretty minor, but it does niggle. For the price, I don't think you can find a more reliable sketchbook.

Paper quality has changed
I do agree with the others that this sketchbook papers did use to feel a tad heavy and durable, however this time it feels like the paper quality has dropped slightly. The sketchbook description and codes are the same - just disappointed it feels like I have bought a different sketchbook. I used to be able to use water colour on it and the paper can hold it - this time the paper just feels too thin and slippery. AllIn all , it is a good sketchbook.

What is really nice about this sketchbook is that even though it is ...
A lovely sketchbook with acid free cartridge paper - really makes me think back to my school days and art class. What is really nice about this sketchbook is that even though it is a hard cover you can actually completely flatten the book to get a double spread without ruining the spine which will make it great when you want to use a double spread or just really help you get right into the corner of the pages. When I purchased this product it was also on a special which made it at least £4 less expensive than the local art store. And for someone that likes art materials every bit of savings help.I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality A4 sketchbook which carries a good and trusted brand name.

lovee
love this sketchbook, took a star off because the front cover arrived a bit dented at the bottom but it doesn't affect use of the sketchbook itself so I don't really carereally nice for sketching, can use light washes of watercolour and my pentel ink pen doesn't bleed throughcopics don't bleed through but you can kind of see the colour on the other side of the page (but I haven't found a 150gsm sketchbook that doesn't do that so)

so far the pages are smooth and thick so quick sketches can be rubbed out easily, watercolours don't make it ripple up too badly
I do A-level art so I needed a book that could take many different mediums, so far the pages are smooth and thick so quick sketches can be rubbed out easily, watercolours don't make it ripple up too badly and oil or acrylics sit nicely. It did come looking a tad imperfect with scratches of the surface along with some oil residue and the 'Daler Rowney' logo scratched away a small amount, other than that it is in perfectly reasonable condition and will not impact on my drawing ability.
