The Blood Flower (A Leo Stanhope Case)
N**W
Entertaining, Informative Victorian Era Read
I've enjoyed reading Alex Reeve's Victorian era series about a transgendered main figure's adventures. This is not a sexy series, rather it is suspenseful and reflects the author's knowledge of the British Victorian era in London. The main figure, Leo Stanhope, always felt like a male, even though born female. At great risk in adulthood, he dressed and worked as a male. This mystery is about a purportedly valuable object which indirectly instigates murders. Leo investigates. The book kept my attention, and left me sad that this is the final book in this well-written series. The author will likely write another series, but not about a transgendered Victorian era person. Recommended adolescent and adult reading.
