Brilliant.
Well written, insightful and funny as..A fresh perspective on the story and one I can't imagine Liam being too happy about.

Presents Liam Gallagher as a violent yobbo with multiple personality disorders - I loved it.
Iain Robertson was Oasis's tour manager, and, has written a book about his time with the band. I binged it, finishing it in less than two days, and whilst I found it extremely interesting, I thought that Robertson presented younger Gallagher brother Liam as a bit of a brute, a drug-using fiend, and a borderline alcoholic. Whether or not these are accurate portrayals is a matter of opinion and open to interpretation; Liam is, of course, known as the more rowdy and headstrong of the two brothers. The book itself was a quick and easy read. Quick because the font size was large and easy to read because it was written an informal, chatty style that made it feel more like Robertson was a friend sharing tales of his time with the band than an author who had written and published a book. Personally, I prefer an informal style of book, so I really enjoyed how this one was written. However, whilst I found the informal style of the book enjoyable, there were times that the continuously changing format of the book; from a general biographical style to a playscript-style was difficult to follow at times, though this did not completely hinder my reading and at times was a welcome change from the mundane. My favourite part of the book was the stark difference between the entire work and its last page; it becomes very personal for the epilogue, and, if it were possible, I became even more attached to Robertson because he opened up and shared his more personal thoughts after he was sacked from Oasis following a row with Liam who, at the best of times, is portrayed as a violent yobbo with multiple personality disorders - one must use their own knowledge to come to the conclusion on whether or not this is a fair character representation.

Part great Part not
Great stories get mixed together with pages of pretentious nonsense and irrelevant quotations. The good bits are very good, though.

An interesting read
What is good about this book is that it is written by someone who had an inside position. It tells the story of the excess of the early years and what it was like to be involved with the band.It is easy to dismiss it as an attempt to cash in which I suppose it is. However, it gives a useful behind the scenes look at the band and is basically a diary of his involvement, you can feel his frustrations at times but also his feeling of good fortune to have been involved at the peak of the band.Definitely to be recommended if you are a fan.

It’s a long way to the top
Adored this book. Adore this band. Most rock reflection tomes are a fraudulent mess of preening polished revisionist history. Not so here. Go for the ride of your life with the most talented, bratty, and undisciplined pop stars perhaps ever. Alternative glory achieved. Punk ideals intact. How there’re all not locked up in some insane asylum or dingy foreign prison is beyond me. Told in hilarious Brit roadie slang. Pull up a pint and jump in mate. Seat belts securely fastened and trey tables in full upright positions. Turbulence ahead. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Entertaining Read
Highly recommend this book. Came across a random Oasis podcast with the author as the host. This was the first I have heard of this book, as I don't think it got wide release in America. This is a must read for any Oasis fan, or anyone who is interested in what goes on behind the scenes with rock bands.Let's hope for an Oasis reunion that produces material for a sequel to this book!

Worth a read
Has a lot of good background on what was reported in the media but gives a better glimpse of the band members at the time. Can't really understand chapter 15... Seems like the ramblings of a drug addict. Might be what he was going for but just confusing. 4 stars for that.
