NVR HDD swap went well
This was almost a plug and play swap with the smaller HDD that my current NVR had. After formatting it, it works as advertised. It’s the same size and brand of the smaller HDD I replaced. I’m assuming this will last several years down the road. Don’t be discouraged if this is your first time installing a HDD. It’s very easy to install

Love how easy it is to find AI detection events
Got my security camera system up and running love the responsiveness now I get to trackmy cats, mice, and other critters while scrolling though my video feeds! Better than national geographic because you can fast forward without too much buffering, maybe my system, but I think this dive is contributing to this at least a little bit. The system i put this drive in claims it can store one events only HD feed and three 4k feeds continuously for about 150 days which i think seems to be good use of 20 TB.

Fast Drive and Great Storage Space
Need a DVR rated Hard Drive for a new DVR system I am putting together. Had an old desktop and the 8TB storage capacity of this device will give me hours of Video footage. The speed of the drive allows me to grab 4k video streams.

Good drives for NAS; one arrived dead
1 out of 7 drives I ordered was dead on arrival. The remaining six and its replacement are working well

It will fail on a small NVR setup
I bought the '24Gb Seagate Skyhawk AI NVR HDD' back in in April 2024. I installed it right away in my NVR. Within 2 months I started receiving warnings from my NVR that the HDD was having sectors fail. I thought maybe my cameras and NVR were just overwhelming the HDD, so I bought another. Fast forward to August or September 2024, I have a full HDD failure, so my NVR was not recording anything. Shame on me for not fully understanding my NVR's poor warnings of HDD full failure. Even more crappy, the fact that such an expensive HDD failed in such short time! Additionally, my NVR was dumb in that it didn't fault over to the other Skyhawk HDD. I started to look into warranty replacement and I have to keep the stupid box that it came in, in order to send the product back for warranty coverage. I plan on contacting Seagate today (15 Nov 2024) to determine if that is in fact the case. I have 9 smart cameras (2k-4k @ 15-30fps) with only 4-5 on continuous record.

Smooth and spacious
This hard drive offers a lot of bang for your buck. Installation was simple and straightforward, and the amount of storage you get for the price is excellent. It runs fast—I’ve had no issues with performance, even when scrubbing through large video files, which can be demanding. For the most part, it's been a smooth experience. I’ve found it to be reliable and relatively quiet in my setup. That said, I’ve seen some reviews mentioning noise or early failures, so I’m keeping an eye on it. So far, I haven’t experienced those issues myself. If you're looking for a spacious and speedy drive without breaking the bank, this is a solid choice. Just be aware there may be some variability in long-term reliability.

So far so good
Initial thoughts, seems good. Definitely a legit HDD. No bad sectors or running hours so that's good..Installed in a NVR for 12 4k cameras. Will update if dies.Only con, it's a pretty loud drive. My NVR is in a master bedroom closet maybe 12' from my bed and I can hear it clunking with the TV on. It's not awful, almost sounds like a distant thunderstorm lol
