Ordered this decal and another from a different seller for a friend's newly remodeled kitchen. The conditions were pretty much ideal - freshly painted and therefore absolutely clean wall. I tackled the other decal first and it went off without a hitch. Start to finish took about twenty minutes. The next morning I figured I'd get this one done. I am not exaggerating in the least when I tell you that it took me over FOUR HOURS to get this one applied! The letters very much preferred to remain on the plastic overlay than to adhere to the wall. I scraped and pressed, pressed and scraped, mumbled and cursed. I tried every trick in the book and several that haven't yet been written. The other decal suggested using a hair dryer for a little heat if the transfer proved difficult. No discernable effect. Another suggestion was peel at a shallower angle. No dice. I finally discovered that if you start from a place where the peeling angle is more obtuse (such as a rounded part of a letter rather than a corner) you eventually can establish a starting point. I also discovered that peeling at an absolutely flat 180 degree angle gave you a better chance of establishing a toehold. I literally had to take it a fraction of a millimeter at a time, trying on every letter to establish even the tiniest adhesion that would then permit me to worry the rest of the letter into place. The good news is that the result looks great and my friend is thrilled. The bad news is that unless you have the patience of seventeen saints and loads of time to kill this particular decal is going to drive you right up the wall you're trying to decorate. I cannot recommend it to anyone who doesn't have a bit of a masochistic streak.SIDE NOTE: I read at least one review that said the reviewer was disappointed because the application left a strip of shiny plastic rather than just the letters. This is not true. This is a true decal - once the backing paper is removed AND the plastic transfer strip is peeled away you have nothing on the wall but the lettering. I am certain this reviewer simply neglected to remove the plastic transfer strip. Maybe one day a courageous friend will inform him/her that the shiny plastic is supposed to be removed. But by then the whole thing will probably be welded to the wall even more permanently than if it had been done properly.

While these turned out perfect and amazing on my wall and exactly how I pictured them, you really have to be patient and a little creative to get these to apply to the transfer paper, why can’t they JUST come already on transfer paper like other products.The hardest part is getting them transferred onto the transfer paper, it’s not as easy as peel transfer paper, lay it on sticker, press with a credit card or scraper. NO NO NO....I had to end up heating a rice bag I had in the microwave then hard pressed that across the transfer paper repeatedly, then test to see if the words would peel, NOPE, part of them but not all, so heat and press again then test, had to repeat this process over and over until it peel off 100% onto the transfer sheet.But, when you finally get to lay it on the wall, scrape/press/peel it came off beautifully and easy but getting to that part WILL take patience or you’ll mess up your sticker.All and All I LOVE the final look!

Directions indicated that there was transfer paper included but the transfer paper was already applied to the vinyl quote when I received the item. That could possibly be the reason for the letters not releasing easily to the wall due to the adhesive from the transfer paper becoming more adherent over time. After very hard continuous rubbing, the use of my fingernails, multiple tools, and an extreme amount of patience, the quote finally adhered to my wall. The transfer paper left a layer of adhesive on the letters, leaving them gummy and sticky to the touch. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome, the quick shipping speed, and how it looks after the hard work of installation. Thankfully I have lots of experience in vinyl cutouts and I didn’t ruin the design. This was very difficult to install.

This decal is difficult to put on the wall. It does not come ready to use. You will need to transfer this decal to another adhesive strip (provided) before placing on the wall. Transfering the decal to the adhesive strip is tricky (some letters get stuck and change shape) Applying the decal to the wall is kind of difficult too, as the letters don't transfer easily. But, after all of the steps are completed, the end result looks nice.

Absolutely adorable, but wish I would have known how easy the contact paper came off if you don’t use right away. Decided to wait and paint first and it came apart. Had to pick each letter off and try and place it all on the wall....ugh.

This was interesting. I've purchased wall decals in the past and none of them were like this. You have to transfer the lettering to a sticker thing that you then have to cut around so it doesn't look like a random glossy rectangular sticker on your wall. The size was what I was expecting but it was more complicating to put up then I feel like it should have been.

It was kind of difficult to transfer the decal from the paper to the transparent screen. I had to go over it with a card about 20 times. Other than that, I love it!!!
