I bought it to a friend, the book is beautiful. Ronis's photos are always good, no doubt.And this book is not expensive, I highly recommend it.

this is a very nice book with excellent quality and fine print.it has a very nice collection of pictures from willy ronis.a definitely mast have for the ones how like the work of this artist.

Some of Ronis's best work, and the book was very well priced. The Humanist photographers deserve more attention and this book is a great vehicle for that.

Gorgeous collection of prints taken by French photographer, Willy Ronis. Great print quality, heavy paper quality, and nice large sized book, which allows the reader to stare at the photos in greater detail and appreciate Ronis' sense of perspective. What I appreciate is the fact that his images are not just of the iconic images that come to mind when you think of Paris, but rather the grittier, authentic, mis-en-scene of everyday Parisians, primarily from the mid-20th century. Got this on sale via another website, which begins with a giant O - and it was a fantastic purchase. This would make an excellent gift for a professional photographer, Francophile, or simply anyone that appreciates film photographic art.

Well written and images appear tue to form. Contains what the information I expected. A Good Summary. Price is right.

I love French photography from the 19th and 20th century and Willy Ronis falls into that category, needless to say the photos are all in black and white.It has in it the very beautiful photo 'La descente du chateau' that has a lovely luminous quality with the damp cobble stones and is rippingly sharp.As a photographer I love black and white pictures that make you look at the subject and not be distracted by the colours. Every now and again I like to turn the camera to B&W and for a week only use it that way and try to produce photos of the sort I see in books like this.If, like me, you like to collect books by other photographers this is one not to be missed.Tachen produce wonderful photo books and at very reasonable prices. The quality of the printing is excellent.Don't wait for your birthday to get it as a present, buy it today as an unbirthday present.
