Resource management game that balances strategy, luck, and a healthy dose of ecology
Great card game for up to 4 players. Resource management game that balances strategy, luck, and a healthy dose of ecology (migration, over-harvesting, ocean acidification, biodiversity, etc). The basic play is that you choose from an assortment of species to add to your food webs, and over time you build up your ecosystem to win victory points. The designing food webs part is pretty fun. Every once in a while a "climate change" event happens which melts ice in everyone's ecosystems, which is always really sad because species like polar bears and walrus often die. Once 4 ice melt events have happened, the game ends and all the points are counted up. It's about a 20 min game.

A GREAT idea for a game but much too complicated
A GREAT idea for a game but much too complicated. Instructions not clear either. Took forever to set up and I'm still unsure how to play.

Wonderful, creative card game that engages and teaches basic ecosystem dynamics at the same time. Highly recommended.
This is a great card game that is easy to play and very educational. Our girls (9 years old) love it and they especially like how the outcome can be so variable depending on how you've built your ecosystems and what challenges emerge by chance. They learn so much about food webs and ecosystem balance by playing and they really love the game play and flow. Great birthday or holiday present and also great for schools. By the way, this is fun for grownups too!
