Use this on all the camp outs. It keeps the bugs at bay. I purchased the refill kit that comes with the longer lasting pad and it matches the life of the butane cartridge. I store them both inside the lantern. First used this in MN at boundary waters and was impressed. I believe in dual use items so there is less to carry and this fits that.Updated 7/18/19:After a year my original thermocell still works but the lantern just flames out. I spent 30min trying to light it watching the mosquitos swam around me. Finally I gave up and went back to the regular thermocell using the same butane cartridge and it lit the first try. The lantern was getting fuel and would flash and flame out. It lit for 5 min and that was all I could get. The original does the trick. Too bad because I really need a dual purpose device.

We have several Thermacel units, all of which work great! This one, we bought for our carport because we sit out every evening and enjoy the quiet time. This unit seems to use about twice as much butane as our other units. It is bigger and covers our whole entire area and mosquitoes are no where to be found. We like the fact that these units are mobile and can be taken anywhere.

I'm still not totally sure about this thing. It seems to be made fairly cheaply and the way the repellent mat is used is kind of bulky and clumsy. They don't really seemed to be designed for each other specifically. I'm not really sure how effective it was on our recent camping trip. I'll have to test it some more and update this review later if I change my mind but for now everything about it seems mediocre.

This was a gift for someone who is just loved by mosquitoes so I can't review by my own experience. However, I purchased this because I have a friend who swears by it. She won't even work in garden or go hunting without it.

The light is fabulous. Very bright and great to use inside of a tent. The design is a little awkward how the top and bottom attach. I seem to frequently undo one or the other. I haven't had much opportunity to see how well the repellent works, but the couple of times I did use it it seemed to work okay. The flame did go out a few times for no apparent reason, though.

Works great light is just ok, we bought it to keep mosquitoes away. The base doesn’t lock well into the top so comes apart often when moving that is why it lost a star

The product works and the lamp is awesome. However, the reason I gave it 3 stars is because right out of the box, the bottom battery cover does NOT positively lock in place and easily comes off and the batteries fall out. I literally duct taped the bottom battery cover 5 minutes after I got it out of the box, new.

Great product but hard for old eyes (on/off indicators are gray on gray). Wish you could buy the replacement strips and propane gas separately (vice together) because we use them at different speeds
