UK Region Free edition is a better deal
There are 2 options.1. Buy the US Region Free edition which comes with an additional movie - North by Northwest, and a booklet2. Buy the UK Region Free edition without themThe most significant difference is the price. Since I purchased the UK edition years ago until now, it continues to be $55 cheaper than the US edition new and still $25 less used. All the bonus features are identical, however the US edition comes with a copy of the 58-page booklet titles "The Master of Suspense." (The Amazon UK site shows a picture of the product with the booklet, but it does NOT come with it unfortunately.)So purchasing NxNW separately is still going to save you quite a bit.Either way, be careful buying a used copy of this set, as it's possible the Digibook pages could be damaged easily by clumsy hands. Otherwise, it is well designed just treat it with care.Just thought I would pass on this useful info to the BluRay collectors out there.

Satisfied
This is a good set. However, it's missing a lot of stuff. Do not take this literally as his masterpiece collection, that's just what the name is. The UK set has most of the big ones, including what many consider to be the gem, Vertigo. I will say that while I knew this had 14 films instead of the 15, I was unaware of the limited US version being available for only a slightly higher price. The US set has North by Northwest, a key film, as well as a booklet. It's partially my fault for getting the UK set instead of the US set, but I think it should've been clear to customers that the US was available for only a little more. Currently the US set is a better bang for your buck and I didn't know that until after the fact when I had to specifically search for it.As you can see I'm a little disappointed I didn't get the US version but I'm fine with it as I can simply get North by Northwest seperate and just skip out on the book. If you want more of the classics such as Rebecca you're going to have to purchase them seperate anyway. Overall this is a really nice set with some great films and I just love the book-like presentation of it. This is genuinely one of the nicer looking box sets I have. For collectors, at this price, either version, this is a no brainer. The set just has a really nice look and feel to it. Just know that this is missing quite a few classics and it's more of a collection of his mid to late period movies. It appears to be missing some key films due to copyright issues I presume. The picture quality also varies but so far I've seen Vertigo and it looks really great. Whether you'll be satisfied with this or not will depend on you and what you're looking for, but I think it's worth it for the price, just go with the US set to get everything included.

Great set! Incorrect packaging.
I purchased this set and am very satisfied with it. Just saw 2 films so far- Marnie and The Man Who Knew Two Much- excellent picture quality. I am just baffled by the packaging. My set has 14 films. It is missing North by Northwest, which doesn't matter to me since I already have it. Based on other reviews, this would indicate that this is the UK edition. But there is "no indication that it is "Region Free." The text in the package highlights that it also includes a delux 48 pp. book with pictures, a poster, etc. But there is no such book. The US version is supposed to have an additional disc (N by NW) and a book. I presumed when I ordered it that I was getting the US edition with the aforementioned book. It seems I got the UK set, with the American text. Not a deal-breaker but a poster at least would have been nice. If it is a deal-breaker for others, you have been informed.

Best Hitchcock box there is
After watching for movies I am very happy with the quality of the colors etc. The “book” shape box is beautiful and the movies have easy menus and a lot of subtitles (also dutch) and some extras.

The master of suspense at bargain prices
The main differences between the region-free Blu-ray release and the Region A release are the absence of the booklet, the absence of “North by Northwest” (which is available for a reasonable price in another set) and the price. At the time I purchased the region-free set, it was $20 cheaper than the Region A version...which just happens to be the price of another set containing “North by Northwest”, “Dial M for Murder” and “Strangers on a Train”.So you can either get the Region A set, or for approximately the same price get the region-free set missing “North by Northwest” which can be purchased cheaply in another set. The price to get all 15 films will be approximately the same, but by buying the two sets, you also get “Strangers on a Train” and “Dial M for Murder” in the bargain.

Very Nice Set, but missing 3 Essential Movie
This is a very nice set, with great image quality. However, it could have been much, much better if it had included "North by Northwest" "Dial M For Murder" and "To Catch a Thief" Admittedly, most Hitchcock fans probably already have those three movies separately on Blu-Ray, but it would still have been much nicer to have them included in this "Masterpiece Set" Otherwise, had it not been for those three omissions, I would have easily given this set 5 stars instead of 3.

I like Alfred Hitchcock and lots of his work.
I find Alred Hitchcock's expressionism amusing...i like some of the work that he has helped provide and make available. That aside...i find that Very unusual that the package was bought New, but sent unwrapped and the case in the box was taken out flipped backwards and upside down...not any further irregularities noticed about that as of yet.As a Result in this unusual irregularity...i have naturally lowered a rating of 5 out of 5...to...a 4 out of 5...for being very Bizarre.

Amazing quality!!!!
I was a bit tentative after reading the reviews, but whatever the issues might have been, I could not be happier with the quality of this set!!!! The packaging was terrific, and the quality of these obviously restored versions was terrific. Yes, they work fine in the US, and this a great price!!!!

Genius
Hitchcock’s work is ground breaking cinematic art. All the movies in this collection are excellent, even the later movies Topaz and Family plot are superb. The quality of the Blu Ray transfers are excellent: Marnie has some grain here and there, but this adds to the feel of the experience in a similar sense to classic black and white movie grain. I watched these movies three times as I worked through the collection: the first viewings had me on the edge of my seat; the second and third contributed to my admiration of the structure, plot, direction and acting. Totally superb. Each movie is accompanied by a documentary providing insight into the challenges involved in their production. At this price it’s a bit of a give away. Hitchcock’s work have staying power: one can experience them numerous times and enjoy their quality. Hitchcock was a genius. I got the box set with Dial M fur murder, North by Northwest and Strangers on a train and was similarly blown away.

a stunning box of Hitchcock
Although I have watched over the years the contents of this box of BluRays it is thrilling to see them so polished; so new like seeing them again for the first time. I highly recommend a purchase such as this especially if you are a Hitchcock fan and want to see these films in pristine condition ~ great value for money : 14 films in all. EnjoyThere has developed a problem with this order as one of the discs is missing. I trust Amazon to only use reputable sellers so this is a real surprise to me. Investigation ongoing

Excellent Hitchcock collection !
My first ever Hitchcock film (or collection) on any video format. Beautifully restored in both picture and sound. The films made in the 1940's are surprisingly good which enables you to really appreciate the photography and lighting and direction. The colours and clarity of the later colour films are outstanding and the scratchy soundtracks of old TV presentations are gone. I had not seen some of the later films before but well worth watching. The presentation book style box featuring original poster artwork is very neat and user friendly and you get 14 full length films for a very reasonable price !

An excellent collection
This is an enjoyable selection of Hitchcock's films, focusing on those made after he moved to the USA. All those in this set are worth watching. Some elicit creepier feelings than when first shown. For example, watching 'The Birds' during the corona virus pandemic was distinctly disorienting, as if the birds themselves had decided to become malignant viruses! The thought crossed my mind that Hitchcock would have found current circumstances of lockdown caused by the pandemic ideal for a further set of his thrillers if he were still around: imagine 'Psycho' in such a setting!

Great, but...
...but no Spellbound and no North by Northwest, my favourites. What a pity, I'm very surprised that such awesome movies are not part of this very cool collection. After all, it is the Masterpiece collection. They could have ditched The Trouble With Harry, which certainly is not a masterpiece, if the number of films to include were limited. In any case, it is a very good collection, well restored and offered with a nice package.
