The sequel Broken Twigs: Realm of the Thunderbird is a compelling read. Charlotte Taylor is a weaver of words, a goddess of imagination, and a story teller extraordinaire. Twigs and Thistle certainly have their courage tested when they go through the magical portal and find themselves in a strange new world. The twist in the story is clever, and the world building is fabulous. Of course, the feisty faerie, Twigs, is a character to love, and watching her development is heart warming. As Twigs' friendship with Thistle flourishes, he helps her learn important values all faeries need to know. The book is filled with life lessons—morals and consequences—and is a brilliant read for adults and children alike. The suburb illustrations make the bool all the better. Highly recommended.

I could not wait for the next instalment of Twigs’ adventure and it certainly did not disappoint. Once you open the book, you literally fall into the world of Twigs. Loaded with drama; friendships tested; the evil that lurks beneath and much more. My nieces saw that l had the next book and were a little excited to continue the adventure but will have to wait for Christmas! Thank you Charlie, you have done it again. Looking forward to ‘Where Unicorns Roam’.

Twigs and her new companion find themselves in a strange new realm with a terrible foe threatening everything - the mythical Thunderbird!! My kids and I adore this series with its clever moral code quest mechanic examining values and how we relate to one another whilst also giving the reader a fun, humorous and often thrilling adventure with truly memorable characters. Can’t recommend this series highly enough for parent and child reading, and it’s the kind of book I can see being passed around between classmates, a quintessential school library book I would say also. Can’t wait for the next one, fantastic work Charlie Taylor.

I love the balance of magical wonder and gritty thrill that Charlotte L. Taylor communicates in Broken Twigs: Realm of the Thunderbird. This second installment of the Broken Twigs series is just as enthralling as the first. I thoroughly enjoyed being taken on Twigs and Thistle's journey into this realm and am loving the self reflective path that Twigs is on. Really looking forward to reading more of her self discovery!
