Brilliant camera without any subscription charges
Brilliant camera and no ongoing storage charges unlike the Ring cameras.Super clear image in daylight and at night time which is a big upgrade from our cctv camera which is terrible at night time.Has settings that enable you to designate which areas you want to monitor on your property and which to exclude which is handy as we are a corner property and get lots of passing traffic at the end of the driveway that we don't want to be notified about, and it pings an alert to your phone when anything occurs in that area marking it under a category such as motion, lingering etc.The default card only records when something happens and loops over existing recordings, so there is no endless scrolling to find what you are after, and there is plenty of room on the default sd card in the camera, we've had it installed a week and still able to see video that was taken whilst we were installing it. The camera does have the option of upgrading the card to something larger should you need it however. The set up is really easy to do via the easy to use app and installing it was just a case of taking the old doorbell off the wall and screwing the existing two wires that connected that into the back of the new camera, nice touch is that it comes with a template making it straight forward to know where to drill the holes as well as extension wires so that it wasn't so fiddly to install.Really happy with the camera and can't recommend it enough.

5 stars! Finally found the perfect camera after 3 years searching
I’ve been searching for the perfect video doorbell for over 3 years, and I truly feel like I’ve finally found it with the AOSU Video Doorbell V8S. The 5MP UHD camera quality is absolutely phenomenal—crystal clear both during the day and at night. The dual-band WiFi (2.4/5 GHz) ensures a reliable connection, and the triple motion detection has been incredibly accurate without too many false alerts. While the audio clarity could be a bit better, it hasn’t been a deal-breaker for me. The fact that there’s no monthly fee, 180-day battery life, and local storage for 2 months just adds to the value. Integration with Alexa has been seamless as well.Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with this purchase. It checks all the boxes I was looking for—high quality, reliable performance, and great features without ongoing costs. Highly recommend!

Good product but make sure it does what you want it to.
There is much to like about this doorbell and one huge thing to dislike.Firstly, the camera is very good and it's a very clear image. The whole thing is easy to set up and didn't take very long at all. Notifications are instant and there's storage capacity on the internal wifi device that comes with it so you don't need to pay a subscription fee as there's plenty of internal storage available to you. All of this is excellent and I'm very happy with that. However, there is a massive flaw in my opinion. When someone rings the doorbell, your phone will alert you but cannot show you who is at the door! I thought I'd set it up incorrectly and contacted support with many messages going backwards and forwards until eventually someone said the doorbell does not have that functionality.I couldn't believe it. To me, apart from recording what's going on at my front door, one of the main things I wanted was to see who is at the door so I can decide to answer or not. Not answer it and then see who it is. Obviously it doesn't say that anywhere in the description so I've asked to return it.***EDIT***It seems video doorbells showing you who's at the door without having to go in to your phone and then the app itself isn't common, so in that respect this is no different from a lot of its competitors. If we take that out of the equation altogether, then in all other respects it's excellent and I've increased the star rating to four from two. But what a shortcoming from the industry!

Superb bit of kit
Before I bought this I did a lot of research into features and costs of a video doorbell, and this has everything I wanted;-- A ringer inside the house rather than just a ring on the mobile- The ability to store events away from the outside unit in case it got nicked- The ability to wire it to a 24v transformer or operate it on battery- If battery, then a reasonable battery life- The ability to connect to an Alexa device so you get another ringer/video- The unit should light up when someone approaches at night- No monthly subscription to see recordings- And of course, all the necessary radar and people sensors and high-resolution cameraI looked at Ring and quickly discounted them due to their initial and ongoing cost to get the above.I installed this over three weeks ago, running on battery, and the battery is still on 70%.The software is easy to navigate and provides all the facilities to tailor what and where to pick up, so for me, this unit is perfect. The only drawbacks are that the unit needs to come off the door to be recharged (but the way the battery is going I can live with that) and the two-way audio is very poor. But I wonder - why does it needs 8-24v AC transformer (with the noise and heat problems) rather than the 5v DC phone charger that is used to charge the battery? Why not allow 5V DC to be the hard-wiring to keep the battery full?
