Cute and Interactive too
In Picnic, Boy and Girl decide to go on a picnic. On the way they meet up with Sheep, Pig and Duck, so they invite them along. Unfortunately, Bull intervenes and chases all of them causing them to scatter and hide. When it seems safe to come out, the friends meet up for an afternoon of fun and games. After a day of food and fun Boy and Girl invite their animal friends back to their house for a sleepover which makes for a perfect ending to their day. This book was awfully cute. The book is interactive in style encouraging little ones to identify various animals and objects. Where is the missing ball, scarf? --- Who is sleeping in what bed etc.? The illustrations are nice and bold, the text is just the right length for little ones, and the font is nice and large as well. A good book to read to your special little ones, especially at bedtime.

A summer outing to remember.
A simple outing for a picnic becomes a little more interesting thanks to a brush with a uninvited bull, a wind blown hat and a lost ball. The book has a nice interactive element because the reader will be asked to find objects tucked away in some of the illustrations.Burningham's art draws the youngster into the story in this oversized picture book and evokes not only a summer's day but the fun the characters have sharing this experience together.Book provided by publisher.

Let's Have a Picnic!
When a boy and girl set off to have a picnic, a cast of animals join in for the fun. They frolic and play games until it is time to go home, only to fall into a deep sleep. Young children, ages 3-6, will like this playful picture book.

I bought this as a result of a review in one of the Sunday papers. I'm sure my youngest grandson will enjoy this being read to him. It will also enable him to interact.

Great book
Excellent format and story. This book is produced to stand the test of a toddler reading unaccompanied without it being destroyed.Educational children's literature at it's best.
