Pico Macom CDA-1A Bi-Directional Amplifier with Active Return

No power supply to hook it up with WOW ITS REALLY GOOD AMPLIFIER IT WORKS WELL AS A PAPER WEIGHT WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I PURCHASED IT LOL IF YOU DONT HAVE PAPERS THAT NEED TO BE WEIGHTED DOWN THEN DONT BUY IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS ITEM COULD FIX MODEM WHEN ITS IN FACT A PAPER WEIGHT! I'd give no stars but it's not a option unfortunately

Cable signal quality in my rural location is lousy due to the signal loss of the aging cable infrastructure that my cable company refuses to upgrade until the population count here makes it "worth their while". When I added internet service, things went from marginal to bad... the cable modem would routinely drop connection and go offline. And then it was struggle to get it to reconnect.. had to power reset the modem several times, it would finally connect and then go out again weeks later. My digital TV signal also began to suffer, tilling or freezing on a set of particular channels appeared.After numerous go arounds with their technical support... off shore script readers with heavy accents, resulting in no resolution after swapping out the cable modem twice and replacing splitters (per their instructions), I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and try out a bi-directional signal amplifier.20 minutes of work to run a co-ax cable from the AC power supply to the amplifier mounted at the cable drop coming into the house, and all of my signal issues not only disappeared, but picture quality has never been so good.

I was using a Motorola BDA-K1-RA which not only ran so hot you could cook an egg on it, but it quit working after less than a year. I took a chance with this product and am very happy with the results. I no longer have dropped internet connections with my cable modem. My upstream power level dropped from 58 to less than 50 and this device runs a lot cooler than the Motorola. I just wish Amazon would sell this directly since it took a week to receive it from this vendor.

I purchased this product after reading many online knowledge base articles on why my internet access was dropping sporadically during the day. I discovered my upstream and downstream numbers where way out of spec but since adding this drop amp I have noticed my numbers are in spec now and I do not have any drops. This product works as advertised and would recommend it to anyone having cable internet (Weak Signal) connectivity issues.

There isn't a lot to say about this amp except that it top-of-the-line professional grade equipment. The amp is very high quality and performs as expected with a clean signal. You won't be disappointed with it.
