It works!
I bought this to help speed up and take some of the work out of washing our large motorhome that is dark in color. We’re on spring water here, and it had always left spots so I had to hand dry it as I was washing it in order to get to the drying before it spotted. I now ONLY wash and rinse and have zero water spots. Filter life is heavily influenced by haw many impurities your filtering out, our water isn’t that bad and this is coming up on 2 years now for us and I’ve still now replaced the filters. That being said I’m not washing the motorhome every month either. Just washed the motorhome and superduty Ford yesterday and still no spots on either.

It’s okay
Will update as we go:Our first one leaks right where the two filters connect so contacted Amazon for a replacement and just got our new replacement. So hopefully the new one doesn’t leak. As for water spots uncertain as we just used it for the first time, we have extremely hard water and it did help a little bit but I wonder if it’s because it was the first time. Will update as we go and use it moreUpdate: has done a few washes with it now! Our first system was definitely flawed and our new one right out of the box didn’t need to be filtered through! Barely left water spots and we have very hard water also! So far liking it!

Filters dont last very long!
Loved this thing for the first 60 days, it worked great, no need to dry or wipe down your vehicle or windows. That lasted for a few times of use, now its leaving spots on my windows and my truck! Filters are way too expensive to replace for the amount of times I used it. Amazon said I missed the return window by one week but I'm gonna try to return anyway. Really sad about the performance of this product, I've used Apec products for years and they usually perform great. Unless you don't mind spending 80 bucks every 3 months on filters I'd pass on this one!

Spot free black cars
This has been a mircle for us. We have 3 blacks vehicles and very hard water. Since my husband has started using this, he has saved us hours by not having to dry the cars. We can actually wash and rinse and spots are down to a minimal. I highly recommed.

Works longer with modification
Some reviews indicate the filters don't last long and that is true if used for the whole wash process. The filters should be used only for the final rinse which is complicated by need to swap the hose feeding the filter with your spray nozzle or pressure washer. I dislike quick disconnects. I tried cheaper two way hose splitters with valves at both ends with a short hose for the bypass, but the splitters did not hold up and started leaking. So I am using the rather over engineered design in my attached photos. There is another vender that has basically the same filters and cart, and includes a bypass but uses the cheaper splitters. I used this rig for two years on multiple vehicles and this year I will be changing cartridges. Unfortunately on of the plastic housings is cracked. I live where the winters can get really cold and a store the Apec system in n unheated garage. That said, I tried the drain the water out last fall, but apparently did not get it all. Next winter it goes to the basement. I have ordered an Apec 20inch housing which should replace the broken bits but at a cost of $80. Next winter it goes to the basement.

Taking a chance after some tough reviews
I have had this over a month i have done alot of cars with it and i am very happy with it the one thing i did is i only use it to rinse i use regular water to wash so i put a split connector the other thing i learned is is good to get a blower just blow the water off. Dont touch it once u do it just seems to spot just blowing it makes the process alot better so for me i am happy

Leaving water spots after second use
Bought new filters for $140 bucks, washed my motorcycle, then about 6 weeks later I washed my 35 ft RV. Started leaving spots about half way through the wash. I tested a DI water sample was 110 ppm, tap water is 160 ppm. They say 50 PPM is max until you need to change the filters. Seems odd that the filters are ineffective so soon? Should I have drained the filters between washings?

Minor issue with fitting but APEC took care of it
Nice portable car wash filter system. It does what it is supposed to. TDS zero. I had a fitting tighten down too much when I tried to connect a water hose. Contacted APEC and they had a new cap to me by FedEx in a couple of days. No leakage. Works great.
