Blue Bloods: The Eighth Season

No spoilers here. I just received the set and binge watched it. Like a fine single-malt, Blue Bloods improves with age.Those seeking fireworks and instant gratification might dislike the slower pacing, but mature viewers familiar with "the job" and the locale will give two thumbs up. It's refreshing to see the kids growing up, becoming young adults, dealing with life's challenges and moving on. Sometimes life isn't fair and you have to deal with it. But family comes first and faith both comforts and strengthens.Sunday dinners are still the best.Dance as if no one were watchingSing as if no one were listeningAnd Live every dayAs if it were your last.

The writing is starting to falter. The cliché's are nearly unending. Both thin and overweight characters are overacting to make up for the dwindling credibility in the script. Selleck and Jbara are starting to look like beached whales in suits. Even Clohessy, my favorite, is coming off strained. Who's idea was it to cast Lorraine Bracco as a mayor? Even if she lost 40 lbs. I couldn't bear her lousy acting. If I produced this show I'd require everyone to cut calories and start jogging -- including the writers to snap them out of stupor.

The shows are consistently well-written and well-acted. There were more than a few surprises for me, particularly as they impact the Reagan family dynamic. The police work in still on point and I can't add or take away a thing. I don;t want to say more and possibly spoil the program for those who might wait for the DVD to binge watch the season. Let me just say they may have jumped the shark.

Although I've already watched season 8 on Netflix, it just made me more anxious to have it for my collection. Blue Bloods is the best television series on any channel any day of the week and the credit goes to the great cast and CBS for winning the lottery with the writers producers and cast of Awesome people all together in one TV series. So excited to have this DVD.

Bought the series 1-7 and the 8th season, and can't wait to buy the 9th season. I'm really looking forward to more Blue Bloods. We don't work "regular hours" so we tend to watch re-runs and found this show by chance and decided we needed to catch-up on the happenings of the family. Great character build, story line and plot every show. Excellent drama to watch. Thanks Amazon!

Loved the show and if you are as much of a fan as I am, get the DVDs for the series. I own all of the Seasons. It's worth having the DVD set of the series. You get to watch the shows and catch all of the action. At the end of the series are extras that you don't get on the show or on another web site. I recommend the Season 8 DVD!

Our family loves Blue Bloods! This season was more serious with a little less humor but the love for the family was still there! Danny was so fun to watch in last two dics. He stood out and shined!

This series make Americans and New Yorkers in particular caring and compassionate people as depicted through a multi-generational Irish immigrant family. It also reveals the seedy side of politics at all levels. It is more real than any reality show.

I love the series so I was happy to get the DVDs. However, several of the discs have some significant scratches that impact some of the playback. Not sure how or why this happened. Other than the dvds being scratched, the rest of the transaction was pretty good. Just wish I could watch all of the content unobstructed.

The quality of the DVD casing, outer packaging and video is poor. I have purchased the first 7 Blue Bloods box sets and the quality is much better. The DVD inner plastic sections broke immediately and the outer plastic of the case is loose and the inner pamphlet is poor quality.The DVDs do, however, work although the video quality is poor. Audio quality is excellent.

I ordered this product a while back, but was unable to watch at the time. I am trying to watch disc 3 and keep getting told it is unsupported. There is a pretty big scratch on the disc. Very disappointed in the quality of your product lately. Might be time to find a new source for DVDs.
