Couldn't be happier! Fresh!!!
I could not be happier than I am with these First Strike Rations.I admit that I took a gamble because technically, the advertisement says that they're basically already "old" ... if they have a "3 year shelf life" (and everyone knows that as long as they're properly stored and not in heat, they last much, much longer...) - I just thought, the price is pretty great- by my admittedly-poor math skills, these are priced almost exactly *HALF* of what the Government pays - you can get the info right off the DLA - Defense Logistics Agency - website. So I thought, these are a great deal if you're a Survival & Preparedness enthusiast (as I am) and also just love the occasional MRE ......and I saw some comments/reviews suggesting that the packages they received were much "newer" than the advertisement suggested, and so I just jumped on them. I hit the MRE Lottery! They were made in Mid-April 2024. You literally can't find less-than-8-month-old MREs if you tried. The FreshCheck inspection sticker -both of them- look to be brand-new, and the box was factory-fresh sealed. So, in terms of longevity, it DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS. Also, I happened to get Sopakco rather than Ameriqual, which is not just fine with me, I think a lot of people argue that they're actually better, so I guess I made out like a bandit on this score.Inside, exactly what is supposed to be - 1 case of 9 FSRs, one of each "Menu" - so unlike some re-sellers of MREs, you're not getting repeats or anything - the FSR was designed to be all food you could eat On The Go, with minimum preparation/difficulty/"stuff" necessary, and cold if necessary. It provides a light Breakfast, a main Lunch, & Main Meal Dinner/Supper, with a ton of snacks, drink-mixes, & accessories (literally has multiple accessory kits inside each package...) And I BELIEVE they will fit in a standard side/slash Utility-style pants pocket. These are a steal IMHO. I am seriously considering another order - as these shipped out of the LA-area, and I'm in the Southeast, so they had to come Cross-Country, but this is the time of year when it's least-hot in both areas so now is the time.Again - highly recommended. The foreign military "24hr Ration Packs" of various nations range from anywhere around $75-$100+ these days, PLUS SHIPPING, and I am told they often get confiscated coming into the USA... these First Strike Rations may not be as exotic as the British Army 24hr Ration Pack or the famed Dutch 24HR Operational Ration - but they're extremely expensive, hard to get, and extremely expensive. These are pretty dang close and extremely-well priced... That's it, I convinced myself , I'm ordering more!

New to Rations? FSR is a huge snack bag.
Absolutely amazing to get so many FSRs at once. Really enjoyed these over the course of a year or so and even gave some to fellow ration enthusiasts as a gift. Huge variety here. Don't worry about not having time to heat it, FSRs are always heater-free, just open up your bags and enjoy your snacks.Don't like rations? I bet you like Cheez-Its, Corn Nuts, Combos, jerky and the like, and you'll get enough of all those. Even the "entrees" were pretty good, most of them being sandwich wraps and such, everything was incredibly easy to have anytime. Perfect for taking on the go, but if you're picky like I am I recommend opening it up before you take your day trip to see what's there before you get out on the trail and find you have too many desserts. If you do like desserts, you'll get the best selections in the FSRs including the filled cinnamon dessert bun, which I've heard from everyone else is great. Not much of a sweets guy myself, but I did really enjoy all the crunchy, salty snacks and meats that the FSR had. All in all, I'd order another case of these were I ever inclined to stock back up.

Good condition. Much cheaper than individual packs.
>15 dollars a pack isn't that bad, comparing it to 24 hours worth of "grab and go" gas station food. The variety is good, it comes with a bunch of drinks, it's not the tastiest or moistest but it was worth it for the experience. They are a fair bit more efficient for an emergency bag than standard MRE's, and this case contains enough packs for the whole families bags.

Great product will buy again.
We got a case of these and a case of traditional MRE’s for a Scout Troop camp out, we had several former marines, army guys everyone agreed these were the best meal packages around, the food actually tasted good. I will definitely buy again, each bag is a complete 24 hour set of meals, snacks, comes with 9 bags.

Great first MRE!!!!
This was my first time purchasing a MRE product and I can say I am 100% satisfied. Not only are the cases fresh from this year, they have quite a long shelf life and so far after tasting 2 of these I can say I enjoy them immensely! Did some math too....this breaks down to about $16 roughly for 24 hours worth of food......a single food delivery of a single meal in my town costs more than $16. Therefore, if you're looking for an alternative to eating out/getting delivery, get this FSR ration and you get a whole day's worth of food for the price of 1 meal delivered!Already purchased 2 more cases to stash in my closet so I can take them with me camping, travelling, or just because I want to experience a ration. If my income goes up, I expect to purchase more!

Worthy of buying more
Just wanted to try it. Ate the whole case! Lots of food and no complaints. As already described, this is meant to eat on the go. No heating element in it unlike regular MREs. All the food was good but not great. Some included military caffeinated gum. That stuff packs a great punch. Each one includes a resealable plastic bag for trash. Will definitely buy another case and take one FSR on a day hike or a few for a camping trip. Really convenient.

to me, these are terrific
i did 31 years with the army 10th special forces. i went with the army on many camping trips. usually where we went camping, there were local people everywhere who did not like us. or people in another an army from a different country who did not like us. many times we were far beyond logistics to get get a warm, fuzzy meal. and sometimes, there were no meals at all.so, mre's are pretty good. i just got my first box of these meals and i tell anyone who asks that these are pretty close to mre's and a hell of a lot cheaper. if i need to eat, these meals will get the job done. by the time anyone reads this, i will have purchased 3 of them and probably will buy some more.
