Impressive for the money
I use my glasses with Cowon A2 and Archos GMINI 402 multimedia players. Also a very old Panasonic Portable DVD player. Everything you need to connect comes with the Video Glasses. The picture is quite bright and clear and the sound system is vey good. You can use your own ear plugs if your player has a separate audio output or use the removeable ear pieces.I ran the video glasses on the initial charge for 61/2 hours. Not bad. You can use the glasses with or without your prescription glasses. This is my second pair of video glasses The first pair were around the same price and the same reolution. The picture in the Icuiti AV230 is far superior.I have a library of dvd movies that I converted for play on multimedia players using Convertmovie 3.1. I really enjoy viewing the movies on the video glasses and even use them at home because it allows you to lie down flat and watch.Anyway, the picture and sound are great and they're just plain fun.The glasses are sold by Sharper Image, but by buying through Amazon I saved $20 shipping.

Do not buy!!
As a first generation product, it's a noble effort, but it's[...], give the technology at least 2-3 more generations before buying. (note: I bought this to use with a video ipod)Specific issues:1. Sound quality - the Icuiti earphones are made not to insert into your ear (to it's credit, the product says this in the fine print), which is fine for output devices that give you an audio/video output so you can use your own headphones, but an ipod only has one output so you're stuck with really really bad sound.2. Bad design - the glasses don't block out any ambient light (imagine watching a small screen tv with a bright light in the background (in most situations) - the glasses should cover a little more eye surface area to block out more background light)3. Picture size - while the printing of 44" tv at 6 feet sounds impressive, it ends up being a bit smaller than the standard ipod video screen at 2 feet, not really much of an upgrade, esp with the bad sound.(decent picture though)4. Very limited adjustments to head sizeGood concept - but I'd wait for version 3.0 before buying

Picture Quality is below avg
I really wanted a pair of these type glasses to watch movies on my video ipod. I figured this would be great for airplanes and long cardio workouts. So I went into Sharper Image and tried them out with my girlfriend. We were both shocked at how lousy the picture quality is. I would have been happy had the glasses produced a larger type image then just watching the ipod alone, but thats not the case. The picture was grainy and small. The earbuds that it comes with are really cheap. I will confess that maybe thats because I own Shure e4c's which are incredible though high priced. After my trial run in the store, I would tell anyone considering buying one to go to a sharper image and test this product first. I know they make a more expensive higher resolution model but thats 799.

Poorly designed power systems renders this virtually unusable.
Any other product I've ever used with a rechargable battery, whether a laptop computer, a PSP type multi system, a Nintendo DS, a Cell Phone...I can go on and on, has a system in which either: A. the system charges as long as it is plugged in, whether on or off, and it can be used with AC power, even if the battery is not fully charged, or B. the system does not charge while on, but AT LEAST uses AC power so the product can be used without having to wait....and wait....and wait....for the charge, then, after waiting, enjoy the product for barely enough time to watch a 30 minute sitcom episode before it rapidly depletes the battery and leaves you waiting....and waiting....and waiting....and waiting again. Do they really want us to believe they cannot make something like this that doesn't run on either battery power or AC power?I'm sorry, but I just don't buy it. And unless you want to spend a lot of time waiting....and waiting....and waiting...you shouldn't buy it either. What a letdown and a waste of over $200 for this badly designed piece of junk.
