Used Oil Analysis helps to identify potential issues within an engine. By establishing a base line number for both the engines TBN (Total Base Number) and TAN (Total Acid Number) you can begin to analysis your engine’s health. TBN measures the engine oil’s additives and can tell you if they are effectively neutralizing contaminants within your engine. While TAN is not significant marker in on-the-road vehicles, it is effective in determining the neutralization of acid in alternative fuels present in most of today’s fuels. All Used Oil Analysis Kits come with sampling bottle, shipping information and lab fees included. Results from the test will be sent via email within one week of receipt for the sample.
