Dustin's writing style easily draws you into the story and keeps you captivated!
An outstanding personal account describing the political and emotional roller coaster a law enforcement officer endured at the hands of a ‘system’ that was unprepared or unwilling to offer ‘one of their own’ the support he deserved following his shooting. Dustin’s book dynamically captures the audience and shows them a raw and transparent look at the legal and psychological challenges facing an officer diagnosed with PTSD who has survived a shooting in the line of duty. Dustin's writing style easily draws the reader into his story and keeps them captivated! I would recommend this book to ALL levels of law enforcement including HR & Union Representatives, law enforcement students, therapists who work with PTSD clients and anyone curious about the inner dynamics of law enforcement. As a reader, I felt privileged to have had an opportunity to read Dustin’s story. I have nothing but gratitude for his service and sacrifice as a law enforcement officer and his message of forgiveness and healing.

Officers often find their mental recovery is hindered by a lack of understanding of those empowers with making the decisions tha
An officers personal story of the aftermath of his shooting. It gives an intimate look at the behind the scenes results rarely seen or understood by the public. All too often each entity, department, government, supervisors, and officer have different goals which may be at odds with the ultimate goal of healing mentally, physically and psychologically for the officer. Unfortunately, Deputy Reicherts' story is not all that uncommon. Officers often find their mental recovery is hindered by a lack of understanding of those empowers with making the decisions that greatly affect their return or worse create a casualty where none existed before because of ignorance, arrogance and ego.

A page turner! You won't be able to put it down.
Tonight in the mail, I received my friend Dustin Reichert's book, 10-88! Officer Down and read entire thing. I don't want to give away any spoilers but I'll just say this- if you buy a copy (which everyone should), you won't need the bookmark it comes with!Dustin, I am so humbled and proud to know you and call you a friend. Your writing style, experiences and story are truly inspiring. It's not enough to say "Thanks" for your service as a law enforcement officer and for fighting the good fight, but I am very thankful and appreciative of the service you gave. Thank you for sharing your story with me and giving an insight into the struggles and healing you've endured. This was quite possibly the best book I've ever read and knowing it was written by and and about someone you know made it all the more special.God Bless you and your entire family.Love you, buddy.

Very good read! I finished this book in a couple of days. I am familiar with the department and some of those mentioned in the book. Dustin did a great job of not only sharing his story but also bringing much needed attention to those who may be silently suffering from PTSD and/or agency induced PTSD. A salute to you Dustin! Semper Fi!!
